What kind of parent lets a 13 and 5 year old go to the store unattended?

:scust3
Back in the 80s I used to go to the store at 5 years old

store was probably like 50 feet from my building

everyone knew each other on my block though

but at 13 you definitely old enough to go to the store

I would hate to be that overprotective with my kids

The dad was watching them from his window across the street

And going to the bodega young is very common, let alone in broad daylight
Maybe it’s common in your neighborhood. My parents weren’t letting me walk up the corner store at that age. Far too many degenerates in this society to allow your 13 year old daughter to walk the streets without an adult accompanying them. That is extremely irresponsible.

nikkas was walking to school by 6th grade
That’s different. When going to school, we were picked up outside of our home, dropped off at the school, and returned to our home at the end of the day. It’s a heavily controlled sequence of events that makes it very hard for anything bad to happen.
