That’s different. When going to school, we were picked up outside of our home, dropped off at the school, and returned to our home at the end of the day. It’s a heavily controlled sequence of events that makes it very hard for anything bad to happen.

At 13 kids here take the bus and subway by themselves.

I remember someone saying “a 9 year old in NY is like a 20 year old anywhere else in the country.” I’d agree with you if it was just the 5 year old, but a 13 year old usually has to run errands for the parents while they tend to the house. At that time of the day it shouldn’t be an issue watching your kids go to the store.

I don't think that's a valid argument against it. Exceptions exist of course but unless it's in some crime ridden area I don't think it's anything wrong with a 13 year old having the responsibility of going to a corner store.

They know who it was already. They are just releasing more info now that the public is outraged. The way the police are rolling this is is INTENTIONAL and FOR A REASON. They leaked the footage of the crime out on purpose. The shooter is masked up in the video. You see the footage. The victim obviously doesnt die because the police wants everyone to see it. Then now they put out a picture of the shooters face. next thing you know theyre gonna reveal that the shooter was released out on parole or had a history in the system and "they need to get tougher on crime". Watch.
