The man’s wife had given birth to the child in 2014 but it was only two years later that he found out that he was not the biological father of the child. This resulted in the couple’s divorce and the man applied for abolishment of paternity, which was not granted.
The court had argued that he had applied for the annulment of paternity a couple of months too late. According to the Finnish law men have up to two years to apply for voiding paternity of a child born in wedlock, which turns out to be biologically unrelated. The deadline could be extended only for significant reasons.
The man had argued that the fact that he only had found out later and was shocked by the divorce and emotional distress of the revelation. The court had not seen these reasons as significant enough.
Later the mother of the child had sued the man for alimony and the court had ruled that he is obliged to pay the alimony as well as for the legal costs of the cheating wife who had taken him to court.
The case has incited social media uproar with many Finns finding the ruling unjust and some commenting on the need for a “We Too” movement in defence of men’s rights
Finnish man ordered by court to pay alimony for a child resulting from his wife cheating with another man

Ding ding. This is a bullshyt law and it’s rooted in sexist ideology. It’s basically saying a woman is your property so everything she does under your care is your responsibility in the same way a child is your responsibility even if it entails getting pregnant by another man. Women of course have no problem with this brand of patriarchal misogyny because it benefits them
Nah it's like that here too. if your wife cheated on you, the person who signed the birth certificate is that dad. So if you find out thta the kid isn't yours two years down the line, you still legally the kids father if you decide to leave.Live in Finland crehs.
Why are you surprised. You feminsts voted for these laws .what kind if stupid bs, how can you really force someone to take care of a child that isn’t there’s.
They did a study in France, that shyt was 10% over there. It got so bad that they decided to ban paternity tests in France. The study showed that 1 in 10 men were raising someone elses childYeah its called Paternity fraud. Supposedly it happens 4% of the time.
But still in overall population, that's a large number.
For example, there's roughly 4 million babies born in the US, in a year. If 4% are due to deception that's about 160,000.

Yea pretty much. Imagine the shyt show if ALL births had mandatory DNA tests when the kid is born. I guarantee you that at least 1 in 5 men is raising a child that isn't his (worldwide). It's by design, if nicer/more well adjusted/beta men realize women never really want them but need to use them, and they take their ball and go home. Modern society isn't really possible on the socioeconomic front. You think Gates, Bezos, are alphas/made women want them prior to money off charisma/looks/gab? The way society is set up less desirable men are encourage to achieve/create/expand general quality of life to have so they can attract a mate and reproduce. If it becomes painfully apparent that this only gives them a chance and a women will still play them at a 10-40% clip they'll opt, and hoard their knowledge/wealth, stop trying altogether, or as they did previously use their knowledge/wealth for evil/destruction ie. conquest.
Such laws get shut down by feminist's quick. Just look at what happened in France.Been saying this for damn near a decade.
Make the state do it, not like they dont have blood samples and everything else
Nowadays it's simply if you don't contest that you're not the dad early enough. Thee moment you start raising the kid, it's a wrap. You find out one year later the child isn't yours? Too bad, the state will make you take care of the kid.I learned about a law like this several decades ago in a business law class. It makes a man who's not the father liable for child support if he signed the birth certificate. That was bad enough. It may take even less than that today.
