:heh: As a woman , I never understood the idea of the coat over a puddle. Like breh, we can’t walk one block/around it without you messing up your good coat? Or better yet, carry me across?

:mjlol: the only time polyester brehs were winning

:ohhh: maybe they used that as an excuse at the end of the date to get in the house while the coat was in the dryer or on the clothesline

:shaq: it’s gone take an hour or two for that wool coat to dry

a good gesture is to also say thank you after said good gesture :heh:

Just like holding the door for 2 secs, it’s not hard to utter two words. Why do y’all stand on this “well, I don’t HAVE to” hill

Because it's the correct hill to stand on. If you're doing things like holding doors with the expectation of a "thank you", I suggest you stop holding doors altogether, save yourself the trouble.

That's the problem with people. You don't do good things to expect a reward. You do it because it is right.

Saying thank you after someone did something nice for you is the right thing to do. You do it because it is right. It goes both ways. Who raised y'all nikkas?

Agreed but it doesn't negate recognizing the courtesy and saying "thank you". I make it a point to say "thanks" over every little thing someone does for me, I noticed it having a positive impact on those I do it for. Ironically, one could argue the "thanks" being more of an obligation given what is sacrificed vs holding the door. I'm not looking to get super technical on the morality of it but the scale is there. :yeshrug:
