Yeah I realized after a while being remote definitely hurt my chances of breaking through the glass ceiling. I just liked working from home enough and happy enough with my salary that I'm not stressed on getting a promotion. But you are definitely doing things the right way. Salute
Still working from home since March 2020. There is a new position with a nice title that requires being in the office every day, but the pay difference is only $5k-$7k per year at most. I don't think it is worth it when you factor in gas, longer work hours, downtown parking, and time.
The fear is that with so many companies doing layoffs, it's that new person who won't be owed severance and likely got a higher salary than the existing people who would be first on the chopping block. Or my boy ran into a foul company. At the new job he got he was making a good 30K more than the job he left. Every couple of months he was telling me the company had another round of layoffs and was surprised he was surviving them. The company had a policy that you didn't qualify for severance until you hit your one year mark. At 11 months they finally laid him off.I get where you guys are coming from but it's that much of a dealbreaker for meI ain't say quit on the spot because of it if you don't have another gig lol.

I just turned down a higher paying job over that shyt, not worth it for me.
I would def consider $20K. $5k pay increase for office work is a pay cut to me. $5k a year is like $500 a month. Let's say you pay $120 a week for downtown parking and gas, which is actually cheap. That alone puts you at $480 a month. Then you add food unless you make sure you pack everything.

I'm still full-time WFH but in the fintech/sales space, my days can be really heavy or really light it just depends. I'd take a haircut for a setup like yours
My days are typically busy as well, but this is just my schedule for Today. The rest of the week won’t be like this 
but it still beats being in the office.
I agree. I've been WFH for 16 years now. I argue there are definite benefits of occasionally going into the office and that the hybrid model is best. I also don't see myself ever taking a hybrid or full-time in office role unless absolutely forced. I know being remote has cost me promotions at my old job but I make enough money that I'm content not grinding up for a better position with the level of comfort I have in my life.
