Recently caught up with TenPuru. Mangaka is the artist of Grand Blue. I still need to read Grand Blue, but If you are into ecchi harem comedy its great and hilarious. While it does well to build on each of the main cast in a unique way. The romance itself is kind of obvious in the sense it has clear favoritism even being a harem.

Frieren Vol 1

I'm already liking with what this series is setting up to be. Here instead of the start of a party's journey it is at the end. But Frieren as an elf lives for much much much longer then either humans or dwarfs.

Seeing how Frieren has regrets from her old party about wishing she got to know them better and not noticing the lifespan of other species is different from elves. Frieren has already showed small development in terms of wanting to change and like irl these changes don't have overnight. I can already see signs why this series is so beloved.

Absolutely. I remember reading the parts the anime covered god that was a chore. Anime made the wait much more tolerable until it got to the makima and gun devil stuff that was in vol4+5.

I was hyped after the famine and control devil chapter awhile back but now I’m not sure how to feel.

Tenmaku Cinema Ch. 15

Great chapter showcasing how one super passionate person can inspire another talented person in a different skill. Hajime is so passionte about movies and now directing where you can see Junno here be kind of wishy washy when writing songs normally. But when he sees Hajime put in the work it is just the extra push that he needs. More good stuff.

Frieren Vol 2



Wow more good shyt

We meet up with Stark and he really rounds up this 3 team party. A strong man is def needed for Frieren and Fern. Him and Frieren should get along very well. Fern's motherly nature already her and stark fighting already.

Stark really one shotted that dragon Boy needs to have more confidence in himself. Also its kinda cool to see thatas Frieren has grown after her party seperated, Eisen became more flexible in terms enjoying the journey.

Now one thing that hasn't been touched upon is the demons themself which the old party defeated. There is that brutal flashback of a demon eating a village girl and Himmel is uncertain and Frieren being more logical wants to kill her. But the mayor pleads to let her atone. Which is fine. But time passes on and the demon kills the mayor. Frieren with no hesitation kills the demon. The most disgusting thing is that the demon says it uses the word mother purely due to the fact that it brings sympathy on her from humans and fools them. Demons have no meaning of the words mother and father, which shows they are horrific creatures.

Which leads Frieren getting detained because she was calling out the demons that were "negotiating". She was on the money there. This is the moment where we start to figure out how strong Frieren is. She is saying she is stronger then Aura the Guillotene, one of the 7 Sages of Destruction. That lets you know how strong she is. Obviously that demon didn't stand a chance.

But it was good to see both Fren and Stark putting in their work to rescue the Lord of the area. Def looking forward to the showdown in vol 3 and to see what more Frieren is capable of.

Frieren Vol 3



The scales of obedience is a fukking scary tool. It's equivalent to a western showdown where the person with the higher mana pool shoots first. Then those people lose their will whether they are alive or dead. Kind of feels like Graf's dead son was part of the forcibly controlled if I were to guess.

We are got some real good fights. In Stark's fight he notices that the demon fights like Eisen. This would be scary, but the fact is that her mimicking Eisen is kind of like a rubber knife. Despite how a rubber knife may look it holds nothing to an actual knife. Tho I give him props that he was willing to die to launch that final attack.

Fern seems to be handling her own, but her victory is less so explained and we even getting the demon pissed for playing dirty. At first it doesn't make sense. But the flashback with Flamme and Frieren's first encounter it all makes sense. You see then Frieren has a much bigger visual mana pool then Flamme. It is the one smart trick that she teaches Flamme thats great . Basically by limiting her mana pool it allows her to take advantage the biggest the fact that demons take too much pride in their mana. Comparing it to how a human thinks of social status. I assume this is how Fern won. But Frieren mentioning this fact to Aura and then commanding her to kill herself was cold af

The issue of the situation in the north makes traveling difficult since for obvious reason they don't want adventures putting themselves in unknown danger. But Frieren clearly would count as a first class mage wouldn't be an issue except she doesn't care enough to keep up with certs. To be fair she is over 1000 years old. So that is the next step in the joureny.

Along the way some nice stuff regarding Frieren occurs. They meant in elf in the middle of the snowstorm where they survive the snowstorm for some time. He and Frieren have an interesting conversation about the goddess. And he wanting to believe in the goddess because he wants someone to tell he all the good that he did. And when he says that even if Frieren doesn't believe in the goddess, he will tell about all the good that Frieren did. But she has a great response saying that she already has a person in Heiter who already is in line to do that Also they come across the village which houses the sword of the hero. Then we getting a flashback that Himmel couldn't pull the true sword. But that didn't stop him from becoming a true hero. Himmel really some amazing flashbacks where you could see it really changes Frieren.

We learn of Stark's birthday and we get the usual fun banter between the party. But we learn the boy Stark never celebrated his birthday like you would think you. But we get a flashback of both his older brother and Eisen making him a hamburger steak for his birthday. Eisen saying that anyone who works hard is a warrior was another nice moment. Ending this volume we get to see potentially we could be having a new member to the party. Ironically a corrupt priest.

We actually getting some BIG main story progress here.

So basically we know get confirmation that the goal is to find Maru's twin brother. Now curious of their parents are still alive or if they will have to kill them along the way.

Also the ironic part of calling that academy 'Heaven' knowing the messed up stuff they were doing there.
