Read through the first volume. Solid first volume. I kind of like the idea of trash being useful by taking care of it and imbuding it a soul. Worldbuilding has potential. Dialogue feels off, but again it could just be the Mc whose has been basically an edgy angry midget.
Curious what the direction of this series will be once I read more chapters. I can't see this being a revenge story, but creating a change like Regto says to him before he dies could be hard to picture. I like how both the people on the ground and in the sphere are both shyt people.
Could be a decent series, but could be something that can become a lil too edgy.
I read about 40 chapters, then took a break so I could let the chapters build up. I REALLY like the art style; lots of dope play with the line art and the page layouts. The way the artist plays with line weights is dope.
At the point I reached; they introduced some really interesting villains, and the world was just starting to really expand. It's got pretty cool characters, and a certain encounter hinted at depth for some of side characters. But the least interesting character was the MC for me. Which made it easy to put down, while I wait for the story to build.

Sakomoto Days Volume 7
Sakomoto's reunion with Uzuki brings up more questions. Considering Uzuki was in the same calss as both Nagumo and Taro and there is no information on him. Then you add Uzuki calling himself naive before. Finally adding the fact Taro in his prime should have killed Uzuki, but that didn't happen. There is no way Uzuki would be alive if Taro didn't out to kill him. But I am curious for that.
So the next step is to infiltrate the JCC. Well no surprise Lu is staying home to watch out for Aoi and Hana. This is both an infiltrating and training arc. Former for Taro and later for Shin.Talk about starting things with a bang it was a fukking free for all guns blazing at the starting
. Taro showed that he just needed the Pen and he unintentionally saved the newbie girl. Meanwhile Shin got tangled up with some crazy young prodigy. Nice showcase of Shin smartly using his new powers without overexerting himself.
So we are introduced to another order member, Kanaguri. In a series with a lot of crazy people he takes the cake. When Shin read his mind something was definitely happening that was fukking up with Shin, but what could it be? Predetermining his moves the only logic explanation is maybe his movements aren't received from his brain? But that just sounds weird. He may be a famous movie director, but I would want no part in associating with him. Newbie girl with a real nice moment getting our gang to safety. Though her sewing skills and inexperience handling weapons really makes you wonder why is she trying to be an assassin.

Before the start of the 3rd part of the exam, we are introduced to Kaji, Toramaru and Shinaya whom are special recommendations. And Toramaru is a crazy one
. Taro gotta stay clear of her. This part has them catching the "flag" of the other assassins. Talk about a weird ass exam
Akira whom is teamed with Taro gets trapped by some net and she is able to get free. Then something triggers her and she almost kills that other dude
. Taro snapped her out of it, but she went from this sweet girl to murking that dude. Her full name Akira Akao and her aunt Rion Akao whom was in the same class Taro in the JCC. She is looking for her aunt, but this def feels like something that she is a former order member or she is dead. Gotta a feeling what Taro knows might hurt Akira.
In the meanwhile we got Shin fighting up against Toramaru. And damn fighting against an assassin who is a fanatic of your mentor. But I love how Shin continues to grind himself and while he shouldn't mimic Taro's fighting style. His best bet would be to implement it with his strengths. Meaning with his Clairvoaint powers and hearing fish movement let him know about the environment. And like Taro he ain't gonna let her throw her life away. He got the survival win over Toramaru, but it seems Gaku is here to crash the party.
So this is the weird thing. They are basically scouting, but Gaku is deadass killing everyone that he sees. Talk about making them clearly Despicable. And even the instructors ain't up to snuff. Wth is that weird ass movie director who's actually an order member when you actually need him.
The fact that Kaji is able to handle Shin, Toramaru and Seba quite easily with a ~ 5 sec lag is crazy . Last character making his name as Kaji really coming in clutch. Dude has some awful self confidence issues, but damn like Shin he got some unique tools. HIs assassination skills come from his use of surrounding sound and even can mimic another persons moves with sound. Which is really neat 
. But damn Gaku was also limited by range of movements as well . These dudes got no chance. Looks like Taro made it just in time tho

So Sakomoto was able to take of VR Gaku pretty decently. But it does raise concern if Taro can match up to him in live one on one combat. All the key members that we seen have passed. But not Utsuki not knowing Taro is around surveying the JCC meaning not accessing the database will make it tougher for him. Tho deadass despite the celebration Taro failed because he has a bounty on his head. But Nagumo suggesting being a teach disgusied as his wife
. The idea makes sense but damn we gonna see Taro catch some hands for anyone looking at his wife's body. 
Mafuyu and Toramaru get hijacked and kidnapped by Kanaguri whom is working with Utsuki. Well that makes that whole shytstorm involement on the airplane a lot clearer now. It goes to show that order members aint happy with the JAA. Although damn dude only cares about filming so who knows. I got a feeling these two don't have a choice in their decision. Tho Toramaru going against Taro would be top tier comedy.
Nagumo goes to Taro your disguise will only work for 24 hours. Talking about raising the difficulty since he couldn't be accepted as a student. At this point it is just infiltration for Shin and Taro. Shin meets up with Mafuyu's brother Natsuiki. It seems more then likely he will be running into Mafuyu with his brother possibly. And we got Taro meeting up with students and one whom wants to work for X and is tasked to delete the database. Well thats some task to be able to compete for a role on Utsuki's squad. The big concerning thing is that a lot of the studetns seems to be heavily favoring X and really grow a distaste for the JAA. Could their be merits to Utsuki's plans or this could be the case where they have seen the bad parts of the JAA and are only looking at the positives of Utsuki's plans. That's one interesting factor going into volume 10.

Mato Seihei no Slave Volume 6
So those 3 call them the Eight Thunder Gods and they put majority of them out of commission very fast. So making the difference in their powers level pretty known. And the dark hair one got Kidoumaru back in its original state. Luckily they underestimated Kyouka and Yuki and they were able to defeat them rather quickly. Really nice moment for Kyouka to get her revenge, but Yuki know has attracted the eye of the dark haired one. At least no deaths among the casualties.
At least there seems to be an understanding between Kyouka & Tenka with Aoba. Given how Tenka describes the supreme commanders ambitions and given Aboa's story, Kyouka gets the sense there is something the supreme commander is hiding or is unaware of. At the moment Aoba will got into hiding until Kyouka becomes the supreme commander. It's nice to be on friendly relations with Yuki's sister. And his moment with his siter before they depart is sweet. She is proud of him and curing her is his ambition to keep going forward similar to Kyouka's desire to change the state of Mato as the supreme commander.
So the Eight Thunder gods at the moment is really the 6 thunder gods at the moments after Kako and Naon were fed to the next one. Tho it seems its mostly energy fuel of sorts. So they don't seem dead. Which I guess can be encouraging.
The volume wraps up with the commander assembly to discuss the Eight Thunder Gods. And among have a long cast of different personalities. The two main ones catching the eye being 9th Squad Commander Fubuki Azumi whom is Himari and Yachiho's mother, whom Himari still wants to prove her worth too. As well as 10th Squad/Supreme Commander Ren Yamashiro. Ren has a very intimading and confident aura about her. So there is not much of a surprise why she is in the role that she is. Yuki really was only their to be considered equiptment, but couldn't that have been stated without his presence.
Volume ends with a Shuuki army attacking the Squad Headquarters. Guess we will start how some of the other commanders compare to Kyouka and Tenka.

Logically speaking Seba's idea of going after the longest tenured instructor here would make sense. Satoda-Sensei is fukking OD. She got some top tier parrying technique with Akido. Yea just the fact that Taro shakes in his boots with her name is saying how strong she is even at this point. But hey if you only land one blow to get information you gotta take that chance.
Seba ends up being more concern about the database has full merits given his brother's safety. But man X's gang more and more gets worse. Basically they got a bomb strapped to detonate Mafuyu and Toramaru, man thats fukked up. So in reality it seemed things were too comfortable well we see what they are trying to do them to corporate with their plans.
One moment I liked was when Natsuki called out Shin for thinking that Taro's style of not needing weapons is point and key for an assassin. Shin isn't on Taro's level or even other first rate assassins in the order. Obviously in the ideal scenario where you would be able to progress and improve, thats more optimal. But when contantless people's lives are at stake because of X's organization. Fully understandable trying to optimize what you got now.
Nice moment for Shin, Akira and Natsuki as while they never got the jump on Satoda-Sensei they got her enough to where it turned on the killing switch for her. It really shows here that she cares for her students even if she is training assassins. It needs to be said Akira's "ability" might be scarier then Shin. Since pathways that she sees seems very instinctful. Honestly her potential is crazy as an assassin, but she seems too nice for that type of job.
So Amane is Yotsumura's son. And his father killed his mother. There is def a lot of mixed context here but at the very least we can understand why he is so upset. But Taro's point stands that work with X aint going to solve his issues with his fathers. Especially since his father is wanted by the order. Amane is basically a kid that caught up with the wrong people and got in position for them to take advantage of.
Curious what happened when Club Jam came on screen. But comparing X's group with the order, the former says they are doing what is right, but in reality they are just as bad as the order. If not worse since the order is full aware they aren't the good guys going around saying they are doing justice in the process. I am still curious what Kanguri's aim is with working with X. Does he just like causing chaos

Kanaguri is up to fight Satoda-Sensei. She started with a rough impression, but she became a character that was easily to really be a fan of. She had the strength of an order member, but wanted to help the younger assassins. After all them dying is too common of a thing. The sad irony that her death came when her students were hypnotized and she put her self out there to save them when she could. And she truly following through with her ideals to save Akira. Satoda-Sensei is a real one
To make matters worse we learn that Slur has killed Akira's aunt Rion. Not exactly a big surprise as Taro clearly knew her and her being dead could be the only logical reason for him not bringing it up. But you feel bad for Akira though.Man Kanaguri is one weird dude. He would use Shin's powers to have Shin learn where his brother is being kidnapped. Man dude really went out to get Club Jam to be fooled. The thing with hypnosis is weird considering he ends up using it on Amane again. But how does he affect the brain like that is the real question. Good thing they took care of one of Slur's henchman and made progress in saving Mafuyu. Also nice that Amane's thoughts on his father are a more positive outlook then it was before.
There is a conversation that Nagumo has with with the director of the western JAA, which is interesting. They mention if Shishiba blows it again. Does this come with the point that Shishiba is on thin ice for whatever reason? It shows that he was the one whom failed to kill Yotsumura before. I wonder if the issue was fear of Shishiba not being loyal to the JAA or just failing to kill his assignment? Right now we got Shishiba vs Yotsumura. So it was Yotsumura that took Shishiba from being a thug to joining the JAA and becoming part of the order as well. I do question if he has it in him to kill him.

There is a conversation that Nagumo has with with the director of the western JAA, which is interesting. They mention if Shishiba blows it again. Does this come with the point that Shishiba is on thin ice for whatever reason? It shows that he was the one whom failed to kill Yotsumura before. I wonder if the issue was fear of Shishiba not being loyal to the JAA or just failing to kill his assignment? Right now we got Shishiba vs Yotsumura. So it was Yotsumura that took Shishiba from being a thug to joining the JAA and becoming part of the order as well. I do question if he has it in him to kill him.

Man Yotsumara's flashback is lowkey making the preent depressing. Now we have the full scope. He thought he had the life that he wanted to protect, but in reality the woman he married just wanted to use him to fulfill her goals.
bytch deserved that death.Yotsumara protected Amane, but lost all the love and admiration his son had for him since his wife played the perfect mom role to perfection. Hopefully we get to see these two moving on. Shishiba and Yotsumara parallel each other in interesting ways. I do wonder what Nagumo is planning though. This dude be the silliest and honestly is the most deadly out of the order's bunch.
You know I was wondering what Akira's role in the story will be given we have it confirmed that Rion is dead. Was Rion the only family she had? Her turning cold is fully understandable, but damn girl aint thinking logically at all. But it really raises the point how deadly she is. I love that Taro knows that Rion wouldn't want Akira to do this. Hell I highly doubt she would want her to be an assassin. It just adds on the things he wants to protect. Man Kanaguri might be the most dislikable character in this series fukk this sicko
The split personality with Uzuki is weird, but it may be accurate based on why Taro has the bounty on his head. Logically it makes no sense to include Taro and getting him involved. Which means its something more personally then replacing the JAA. If we say his split personality is true then it will be interesting which one will reign supreme for his main objective.
Honestly Taro has grown a liking to all the kids throughout this series. It makes sense he doesn't want to put them in harm, but each of them have something else to prove. Glad that matter god resolved quickly and looks like we will get some good info of Taro and Uzuki's backstory.

Enjoyed this past chapter of OP but the stanbase is insufferable. MFs are actually saying that Oda hasn't dropped a bad chapter in TWO years.

We really diving into the backstory. Man the trio of Taro, Nagumo and Rion is top tier fukkery
. Taro just going about his way making the impossible look so effortless. Rion has the same trait as Akira in terms of her instincts to kill is crazy insane, althoughshe has a much stronger personality then Akira. Nagumo is literally the same dude we know in the present. Interesting dude was a part of a spy family. Now it makes sense how he disguise so easily.
These dudes alongside went and got themselves expelled and get "assigned" to take out Kindaka. Uzuki ends up joining them for unknown reasons. You know its cool to see monsters in the present like Taro and Nagumo struggle against Kindaka. But Uzuki suddenly showing up gave Kindaka the hesitation where Taro could finish him off. They were really shocked they actually got expelled and this was a test for them regarding the order or them getting killed. Well looks like they are about to take on an order job, well this is quite the eventful day for them.
There job is to protect the target which is the JAA's wife and daughter. Kind of ironic in this flashback arc the goal is to protect a member of the JAA's wife and daughter. These 3 really showcasing their skills and are fully insync with each other. Actually surprising to see Rion and Uzuki bonding, that makes what we know what happens even more tragic. So Uzuki was infiltrating in the JCC for his brother. But really has a thing against killing. Considering Yotsumara is alive in the present and not Uzuki's brother assumes the latter died. Kindaka more then likely dies. Lets see how it goes. Got some question answered and some question led up to more question. It does makes sense why Nagumo and Taro don't remember Uzuki at school that well.

Honestly,I wished Kagurabachi wasn't a supernatural series.Hopefully the pacing for the understanding how it all works can be made clearer now that it has breathing room. I just don't want this to be another JJK with the GIANT exposition dump in each chapter.
Reading through Sakomoto Days makes it more obivious how much that bothers me in comparison.
MamaYuyu I don't know if it can go back to how it was sadly, but happy the mangaka is finding success since the is really talented. With how he utilizes paneling.

Poison really do be some of the most lethal weapons and unfortunately for the group that is gonna do a number. But the fact that it can accelerate depending on your heart rate is OD. Talk about a scenario where you die if you make a move, but being helpless basically means your death. Clever way using the wheelchair for Rion. But Taro coming right in the clutch when it really matters. But it really shows on a technical perspective how strong Rion was especially considering she was poisoned.
Uzuki who you can tell is on the fence. Rion's words might have decided the path he would take at her expense. Doing everything to protect those that you care about. For Uzuki it is for those kids in the orphanage so you can tell he has something he genuinely want to protect. At a moment he drops the antidote and leading Kindaka to grab it before it breaks. But by doing that he collapses and Rion catches him in the act. No surprise Uzuki freaks out, but Rion goes after him, which is all we know since this is from Taro's pov.
You gotta feel for Taro and Nagumo, one of their closest friends has been missing since the incident and you know the truth, but finally accepting it hurts. Taro takes care of Uzuki, but obviously he didn't deal the final blow. And considering Taro's personality back then and considering Rion's dead body was laying in front of him, there was no lack of motivation on his end. But I do love the point that Taro mentions that Rion is dead there is no way to get around that. But Akira is still alive and is very likely to get herself killed at this point. The difference being Akira can be saved. And that is what Rion would have wanted.
Now a few things are brought up. Kindaka is barely holding on. But until the matter is resolved Nagumo is insistent on keeping him alive. Whether he had a say in that is another matter. One disturbing thing is that it mentions that Rion put up the bounty for Taro with bounty figure she mentioned back then. This has me conflicted because her involvement contradicts her core principle of Akira being her number 1 priority. Considering Uzuki overheard that, it is still more then likely he is the one who put it up and just retraced his steps.
We are meeting more of people from Uzuki's orphanage. Kuamanoi is very intimidating at a first glance. Heisuke is off looking for his bag and Hyou's good nature shows despite his tough look. It becomes a wild goose chase for them to recover Heisuke's bag which is meant as a trap to get Kuamnoi to take out a member of the order, in this case Hyou. Talk about a big showdown next.

Damn this was a lot to take in.
Hyou vs Kumanomi, man it really is to illustrate how ridiculous Kumanomi's skill is. Heisuke did his thing to help out as much as he can but when you mention that he is a specialist. It's hard to remember that his mental was one earlier that was not in the best spot till he met up with Taro and Shin. Now for the first time, not only was he inaccurate, but he hurt a civilian. Hyou was able to get him out, but damn that took a number on Heisuke's mental. Hyou tried to take down Kumanomi and wasn't able to get that done. Still taking out her arm is at least something I guess.
So Taro is able to meet up with Akira, but we get a really big twist of Uzuki's other personality is Rion. As we have seen Shin with his clairvoyance powers this isn't out of the most unimaginable outcome. But it begs the question why. One one hand the bounty was just a lure to get Taro and them to meet. That makes sense. And the chairman for the JAA seems to be Uzuki's older brother? So the goal of taking him out makes sense to protect the orphanage. But the one thing that seems so off was that Akira means the world to her. Did she find yourself in a situation where she wasn't making out with her body alive? An interesting twist that seems to have merits.
