Having been introduced to wrestling during the Attitude era, I only knew Mankind as the goofy, lovable comedy guy who did crazy stunts. When I went back and watched the '96 stuff for the first time when he was a psycho and bodying Undertaker it had me like

The og mankind is my fav face of foley match for match. Cactus when he came back was wild too but mankind up u til he was tossed off the cage was just as good as austin n rock. He deserved that triple threat.

I was like wtf is wrong with this dude

I was sold he was really trying to kill people in the ring

Then Vince like he always do fukk up a good thing and turned him into a chump

Pre-socko Mankind truly was one of WWE's best ever things.

The journey from here to cuddly Mick Foley shoe-horning hackneyed jokes into skits is one of their worst ever things. They've ruined it to the point where he can't even switch it on anymore - when he tried to scare Sasha and Charlotte before their HIAC he only scared his own blood pressure monitor.
