Mannie makes a lot of bounce NO to the roots styled production. The obvious contrast in styles made this a mismatch that could be looked at either way. D boys that grew up on CMR ain’t finna be f*ckin with the piano joints, they want 808 thumpers and up north cats gon rock with the piano loops over those southern bops
it was even more apparent when no one knew how to react to Fresh’s NO remix of Lean Back
This was basically a battle of an in house producer vs an every artist out there producer

What’s with all the excuses, Mannie fresh lost. But on another hand ...nobody is fukking with the neptunes 2000’s. I have every song produced by Timbo and every song produceded by the neptunes. Who’s making excuses? Me personally, I think Mannie lost... but I can see why other ppl would think otherwise. A loss is a loss rather a beat battle, boxing match, basketball game, etc... but there’s always a reason why a loss happened

Swizz Beatz isn’t as versatile as Timbaland but he was fightin those Aaliyah joints with Ruff Ryder joints he knew everyone was gonna rock with
and I also agree with you... I think Timbaland is the only 1 that can match with The Neptunes... they both Justin and Jay Z records they can go back and forth on plus outside genres and they both have unique production styles... imagine 702 I Still Love You vs 1 of those Aaliyah joints
