See us southerners were subjected to your guys music because when we were young at least us old heads thats all we had. We know ya'lls shyt better than you know ours. You nikkas can go back and do the science but shyt ain't the same.
Northerner here

I appreciated the south , midwest & bay areas music in the 90s more than I did locally. Then again I really don't care for anything the south has put out in 14 years.

To who tho? I wouldn't disrespect Storch by calling his shyt garbage because he's crazy successful but I would only put on maybe 1 of the 20 tracks he put on yesterday. Like none of that shyt rides down here.
And another thing is Scott got plenty hard street records

Yo Gotti ti shyt
Method man shyt
Snoop Dogg dmx shyt

Other shyt

But he went there to WIN and that I can't fault dude for :yeshrug:

:hhh:no one thought lighters up was trash when it dropped...and DEF not tri-state area wtf is this revisionist history

This is 100% a tri-state thing. Kim is a legend no doubt but that song was “killing it” like that Rowdy Rebel/Juelz/Bobby Shmurda song from a couple years ago, which was a footnote everywhere else. YOU are the one trying to revise history for a song off an album that was given 5 mics when it was actually barely 3. :camby:

I could have sworn Eve- let me blow your mind was a Dre track.

With these producer battles, you gotta come prepared. Especially with the huge following it's doing.

A lot of Scott Storch songs ARE Dre tracks. Those elite legendary Storch tracks are a combo of Storch, Dre, Mel-Man, or Mike Elizondo. Those minimalist meh tracks are the solo Storch ones.

Cool and I don't throw on emeinem records and I think most his stuff trash 2 but acting like he don't have a catilogue on massive hits and critically acclaimed shyt is foolish also..........
Yeah but music is subjective. "Massive hits" don't mean shyt to a nikka that don't want to hear that shyt. I don't think there's any argument over who has the more successful catalogue, but none of that matters when it comes to preference.

we were buying imported CMR records at $30 a pop in high school, my boys was big on BG and Juve Soulja Rags when not many were listening to Southern Rap up North n across the border while still listening to the WU, Mobb etc and heavy on dancehall music. Real fans never had boundaries. Mannie himself was inspired heavily by an old school producer MANTRONIX

You can hear Mantronix DNA in Mannie shyt. Mantronix was from NY. You were subjected to east coast music because they birthed rap. I would say YOUR generation know music from all sides better. These younger kids didn't go back and check on old NY shyt, hell even old Southern shyt. Mannie didn't lose because he was slept on he just was never versatile enough. He did very well as an inhouse producer but spent the bulk of his prime servicing CMR only and it didn't give him enough to showcase. He needed a match up with someone similar.

massive hits matter in a battle. doesn't matter what you want to hear.

I mean them tracks wouldn't do it for me either though:yeshrug: . Its just a difference of taste. I did like the Jay and Kiss tracks.

Completely disagree. This aint a wikipedia battle. You play the songs and get a reaction. Hearing the block is hot or 400 degreez sent me to places that none of Storch's tracks could. I felt like Storch's biggest tracks were basically vibe killers. But apparently nikkas was in the mood for beyonce and timberlake. I just have to agree to disagree.

Those are stupid hard tracks, yet he played a bunch of R&B and soft rap tracks that had some of the biggest artists on it. Again, people who think Storch won that battle did so based on the artist on the song, not the actual BEATS. Dude played Candy Shop and Just A Lil Bit, two hugely popular yet unbelievably wack songs, and people in the comments were “:blessed::blessed::blessed::blessed::laff::laff::laff:

I'm good bro I assure you. We got real shyt going on man. I've been having trouble sleeping just passing the time. I'm mannie biased but I admitted he took an L.

I was gonna say bruh at least we blessed to be able to argue about worth while instead of a fukkin virus
I don't really care about the coproducer vs producer shyt, but Scott's shyt just doesn't hit like that down here:manny:. Like I really do get the "hits" arguments and just listening to their catalogues, its clear that Scott is way more successful(even tho I heard he fukked up his money). But that shyt doesn't resonate at all with me. Mannie was playing shyt that nikkas have gotten robbed to or stomped out to in my childhood. Storch's biggest bangers were Beyonce and Timberlake and just had me like:patrice: while nikkas was going crazy over some of that shyt.

I think its very telling why the south broke so hard from that east/west coast pop sound so much. Like I kinda like the tracks when they come on but no nikka around here has ever put on Eve with a serious face and that's where the disconnect is. shyt that probably had yall buzzin had nikkas from the south like:why: and vice versa.

A few flowers for Storch though. As a nikka that's been around the world alot, 85% of DJs abroad aint on current rap like that or don't get clearance to play it at their clubs. That have to play that safe, top 100 type shyt and I would say at least 7-8 tracks out of the 15 or so that they all play were on Storch's playlist last night which is crazy. For a nikka that might be living in Europe and into hip hop, Scott may be the greatest of all time so I understand the praise he gets.

No disrespect but i dont care about none of this dawg. Who had the the biggest number one hits? This aint a beat battle or a party. like i said be mad at swizz and timbo for the matchup. Pharrell would have cleaned Mannie up too but would the same complaints be made?? right
