Pilots maybe could have abandoned the take off roll. That plane went far down the runway before it got enough thrust to lift. I think they said it got 600 feet off the ground before you see that decrease in attitude almost immediately. Sad ordeal. RIP to the victims.

Plane crashed into a hostel of a college which had about 74 students staying there. Already reports of mass casualties. Just sad. God bless them

There are certain speed references when it comes to take-off.

V1 is the point of no return. You can abort a takeoff roll anytime before you hit that speed marker. After that, its Vr which is rotation speed aka liftoff.

You cannot abort a takeoff roll after V1 without pretty much having catastrophic consequences.

TYRONE GA!
It's a Boeing 787-8, there were MANY problems with this plane, including the electrics, the batteries, the composite material used and falsified safety records. I wouldn't be surprised if this was another instance of Boeing cutting corners with disastrous results.

Boeing was better when they had actual engineers as CEOs.

Ever since they've gone to pencil neck suits whose sole purpose is to squeeze and cut corners to push profits, quality has gone down.

Boeing are trash. I remember a year ago I was watching news about a whistleblower at Boeing and he secretly recorded himself asking the people in the factories who build these planes 'would you fly on this plane?' and almost all of them said no. One of them described it as having a "death wish".

I think dude might have ended up 'killing himself' shortly after (despite telling his family before if he ends up dead he would NOT kill himself...). fukk Boeing :pacspit:

The Canadian citizen believed to be on an Air India flight that crashed shortly after takeoff is a dentist from Mississauga, Ont., her family has confirmed.

The husband of Nirali Sureshkumar Patel said she was among the 240 passengers on the London-bound flight that crashed Thursday.

Patel's dental clinic referred The Canadian Press to the husband, who said that he was in the process of booking travel to India for himself and the couple's one-year-old child.

That was my wife, he said. I am not in a state to speak right now.

He declined to provide his full name.

The plane crashed in a residential area of Ahmedabad, a city of more than five million people in northwestern India.

Local police say there are no known survivors.

looks like it was a flight back to the UK, which means major heat for Boeing

this random tweet says it could be pilot error
