Just played a few matches so some early impressions. I never played the alpha so I don't know how bad it was but it's definitely not like that now. The game is great and ready for launch imo. The enemies have great AI and maneuver around like Halo/Destiny and Killzone 2. The hero abilities are fun. The aesthetic and vibe of the game looks great.
My only issues are the Windows 95 looking UI is confusing at first but looks like something I can learn and get used to. Also there's no training zone to test abilities, mods, weapons, controls, etc. The game needs that because there's a lot of complexity and you don't really want to experiment everything in a real match and waste your items.
I got a peek at the season 1 battle pass and it uses a silk currency for premium levels. I'm guessing it's earnable in game like Helldivers but idk.
In the few matches I played I think I only encountered 1 other party of players. Arc Raiders has way more.
Overall versus Arc Raiders I prefer this. Arc Raiders is more polished but it's too tense and I end up going back to Overwatch after a game or two. The enemies are so powerful there you just avoid them as much as you can and only fight them as a last resort.
But in Marathon fighting enemies is something you seek out. It can be a bit tough but it's fun. I feel like I can relax a bit more. As soon as a game ends I want to queue up for the next.
The Arc Raiders quests are just a paragraph of voiced text I don't care about. But the Marathon quests can have 10 boxes of dialogue and the characters, factions and world are more interesting to me as someone who only paid half attention to both games in this aspect. Basically Marathon quests feels like it's telling a bit of a story while Arc Raiders quests are just giving a bit of context for busy work.
I don't like how when you successfully exfiltrate your character drops to the floor dead like you got shot in the head and it shows a kill cam. I'm not sure if that's a glitch or intended but it's very jarring and I can't tell if I'm safe until 10 sec later when the scoreboard comes up and states it clearly.
One thing I noticed is everyone I played with was on Steam. I signed up there yesterday and got in really fast. So I think it might be mainly a PC beta right now.

Played a couple games. The gun play feels really really good. This is my first time really getting into an extraction shooter but there’s a lot of items and mods and shyt. A lot of contracts to do.Not many impressions that I can find online but a lot of people are saying this is more difficult than Arc and that the shooting is really good.
Being that it is under NDA it is going to be difficult to find this information in the public. Not many impressions that I can find online but a lot of people are saying this is more difficult than Arc and that the shooting is really good.
I got an invite and it's in my library. Haven't tried it yet tho as I was busy with my son's 18th bday all weekend.Being that it is under NDA it is going to be difficult to find this information in the public.

I deleted it off my hard drive.![]()
one its $40 and two you can tell right off the bat its one of those games that will only be supported well if enough people play the game. Theres not enough initial content to justify the initial purchase. & the battlepass seems cheeks.Why.

Plus im in the discord and im not seeing a lot of confidence in the product. They want the player base to determine what its gonna be. not for me, especially not at launch and above $0-10. thats without getting into the current playtest and having them bushes moving in front of my crib. smh an NDA for a game that was supposed to come out last month is nuts.
It’s a solid 6. a lot of the things I could complain about are things that can be easily adjusted, like the TTK, lack of interesting loot early on, and the difficulty of the aim bots. I think the map could have more human players on it in general. But the gunplay is fun and the game visually looks pretty good in all honesty. As a whole though it’s just not enough going on. I feel like I’m waiting and searching for big moments instead of them bringing it to me. It’s giving me the same vibe I had playing Concord, which I actually liked. But it’s clearly not a finished game, and was never intended to be at launch.I mean, what did you think of the actual game breh.
