but dont you think the organization has stepped into the front and taken it upon themselves to be the voice of black people?

This is where it gets tricky....it seems they anointed themselves as our leader...but im not sure I even rock with them like that.

When I look at their official website and social media it reads like some general liberal message.
Gay folks, women in general, etc...

Shouldnt this be about empowering black people?

Like, I really dont care about what white people in general feel about me...
...I care about young black men knowing how to navigate this world....
...how to be successful...how to be proud of themselves.

I dont see any of that.
Are you black? If so, you don't need a website to tell you what BLM means bc you know already, which was part of Marcellus' point.

To people who are are not black, yeah, BLM as an organization can cloud the true issue at hand, which we're seeing play out IMO. They'll go to the BLM website and think what's there is reflective of how a majority of black people think.

The only thing I hate more than stupid nikkas is fake stupid nikkas. Saying and supporting the statement "Black Lives Matter" does not mean you are a part of or support the actual BLM organization.

For a dude who loves to bring up, to anyone that will listen, that he went to Columbia to pretend he doesn't understand that difference is beyond disingenuous.

Using his rhetoric, tons of Fortune 500 companies have endorsed the BLM organization as opposed to merely supporting the statement.

These fake ignorant arguments are the ones you hear from from All Lives Matter dumbasses who want to pretend they don't get the point. fukk outta here

Genuinely, I didn't ever read their website or manifesto until today. I get why there's white folks out there believing it's a political movement (most of us just want cops to stop fukking killing us and getting away with it) yet if you read their website because they're outright saying it's a political movement, but even beyond that they're openly dismissing black fathers and black men in their manifesto which is a little nuts considering they're saying they were inspired to start it because of violence against black men.

This sentence is the only sentence in their manifesto where "men" are mentioned.

We build a space that affirms Black women and is free from sexism, misogyny, and environments in which men are centered.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it genuinely seems to be an organization who's base was built on the death of black men, and they seem perfectly comfortable using the voices of black men (they have an interview with Bubba Wallace up on the site), yet their entire manifesto revolves around minimizing us......I'm a bit flabbergasted by this right now.

You’d have a point if the BLM org didn’t openly come out and state they are a Marxist group, but they did. You don’t have to support BLM the org to support BLM movement. They are not one in the same, and stop trying to push it like it is.

The geniuses who are against the patriarchy part in a BLM’s mission statement, do you actually know what that means and what their point is?

We make our spaces family-friendly and enable parents to fully participate with their children. We dismantle the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work “double shifts” so that they can mother in private even as they participate in public justice work.

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

Sounds like the point is in the next sentence.I don't really see much wrong, unless i'm missing something they look after the kids, rather than having moms burdened with doing it and her job at the same time :manny:
