They're both from there. I really don't think she has a built in home field advantage. The people of Queens think more like the :mjpls: versions of Bernie, although they are more cynical. However, they've eaten A LOT of shyt from the Democratic establishment fukking up the state with neoliberalism. They could let their frustration be known.

I pretty much comes down to how big De Blasio, a decent progressive, follows up on his Hillary endorsement. He's pretty popular, but would he want to waste political capital to be on the wrong side of this? The Black vote won't be that crucial, outside of the elites and connected, as it's always empty when I go to a precinct.

Well I think educated people in NY who follow politics support Bernie or at least are aware of who he is. Bernie has been gone for a longtime. Hillary was a recent Senator and her husband was the President for better or worse.
Our Republicans are just as liberal as our Liberals nowadays. We have some repugnant congressmen but that's another issue.

De Blasio isn't that popular unfortunately actually and he catches a lot of shyt but NYers like to complain granted we have a lot to bytch about. I'm not even sure what I think about the guy and I really want him to succeed. NYC really has bureaucracy issue. I honestly can't even remember the last primary... there are bunch of polling places by my house too.

He can. Unbelievable huh...and entirely doable. Had California been earlier, this would've been an entirely different ballgame.
crazy, if he can win by that much it changes everything... i think he can too.

That's what I mean. shyt is so stark in NYC, that only the really educated is going to vote. The media hates De Blasio there, but his ties to the Clintons and Obama keeps him media relevant. It's just a matter of how much they're going to go to bat for each other and is it worth it.

You have the worst bureaucracy on the planets for a place with like 5 separate ways to tax yoh, and the highest retail taxes (which also adds NYC tax to basic shyt) in the country. You would think it would be heavily staffed, but you're paying massive welfare and homeless costs, and no one knows where the rest of the money goes outside of upkeep (:mjlol:). Maybe the police needs to stop killing people and paying settlements.

All that being said, I say Bernie has a great chance to maybe squeak it out, due to Hillary biggest base, outside of some of the neighboring counties, being to distracted with life to vote.

We really are with this shyt. I feel everything that happened after the bird, but then stopping Bernie to point to the bird have them a bit mentally and emotionally suspect to me.

:snoop: Damn I hate Pollyanna liberals. They do their best to beta you, then gun for an alpha. Dudes buy into this shyt.

You've got a mix of the media going after him and disenchanted voters. The city is going through crazy stuff with housing, violence, police brutality, corruption, taxes, a long list....

Well we've got a lot of polling places, it's nothing like the what's going on down south, even the hoods have a lot of polling places. We've had crazy gentrification the last 6+ years so the whole dynamic of neighborhoods has changed ethnically, educationally, and income wise. It's some really crazy shyt and there's everything that comes along with that the key being political pressure for better services, political responsibility, and a healthy dose of nimbyism.

The bureaucracy is very slow, duplicitous(x1000), slow, and at times even corrupt. I guess the nice thing about the bureaucracy(city/state agencies) is that gives jobs to people who may otherwise may not have them and can give people what was a decent middle class life(housing situation is ruining that though unless you've been established for 15+ years or so). I think welfare is manageable, homelessness is a long story but it's expensive and a lot of the men are violent not make a long story short it's expensive housing wise. The ACA did a lot of good in NY though imo and motivated people to get on the rolls if they weren't. We have a lot agencies that really engage that are dealing with poverty. Our biggest costs are updating our infrastructure which is ridiculously expensive and it applies to everything and you're talking about 1960 through today in some cases because there was the lack of tax revenue and willpower/necessity didn't exist. Now they're trying play catch up. You also have to remember NYC subsidies the entire state and a lot of NYS money goes to the Feds to helps other states.

Rural/Upstate NY takes voting very seriously/civic duty/ leave it to beaver-esque... go vote on your lunch break, take time off from the day to vote type of place lol. There are liberal areas all over the state too.

Like I've said before I'm not opposed to Bernie winning. I would be happy if Bern gets NYS, the nomination, and presidency but I'm a realist through and through.
