Listen, I love Elway, pause, he was a great QB. Had a damn heart like no other QB I've ever seen. Dude did not give a fukk.

BUT

As a pure passer, he's nowhere close to Marino. Marino was god damn butter in the pocket. Like the poster said earlier, he played in a different league and time (compared to recent QBs, not Elway of course), where the CBs could maul WRs. Accuracy had to be insane.

Don't ever talk to that idiot again.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Tecmo bowl is still the ONLY game that recognized that quick release

i came in here to say this... first game that had a signature move.. decades before live and 2k... that little "thwoooop" sound when he threw it!! but even in tecmo bowl you knew your defense was fukked

another tecmo thing i learned as a kid being a 49ers fan.. jerry rice would never catch a ball in the endzone.. you had to get it to him before the endzone.. even if he was wide open, when he was just standing in the endzone, he'd never catch it... don't know what that was about

:duck:

Marino:
Rating: 86.4
Yards: 61,363
TDs: 420
Ints: 252
Compl Oct: 59.4%
Games: 242

Elway
Rating: 79.9
Yards: 51,475
TDs: 300
Ints: 226
Compl Oct: 56.9%
Games: 234

Even though he played more games, Marino missed almost an entire season during his prime otherwise the stats would be more lethal.

Is this where I bring up Elway's 2 SB wins and his SB MVP? :mjpls:

What does that have to do with him being equal to Marino as a passer?

Is this where I bring up Terrell Davis?

I said that from my first post in this thread that Marino fails when comparing postseason accomplishments, even though he went to a super bowl and won an MVP in his second season in the league.

You seriously putting Elway at Marino's level in terms of passing skills?

Wow.

Elway was one of the greatest QB prospects ever and he turned out to be a pretty damn great passing QB, too :ehh: Or did you forget, breh? :leostare:

Edit: the nikka's career peaked in 1984 :dead:
