Not having the option to just do classic 3-lap races online is a serious miss though. I don't need the generic interstate racing portions. The tracks are clearly more polished than the connective tissue between them.
If you choose random course there's no interstate but then instead of of choosing which course you may end up on one you don't like.
Yeah I found that an interesting choice. At first I thought it wasn't a good thing either.
But balance wise it's actually a smart play, the reason being that in previous Mario Karts, there's too much going on in each course, turns/shortcut wise for there to be any straightaways, which meant that there was a heavy skew on acceleration/handling characters. Not now, now you have to know your map and each character/kart isn't one size fits all.
I'm low-key disappointed. I liked the antigravity zones they had in 8. They are gone from world. Its all jet skis and airplanes, and wall rides. Which isn't as fun imo.
They also removed the horn. How you have a kart with no horn?
I've already unlocked the extra characters and all the vehicles so far. And I want a little more. I know more is coming.
I still wish you could turn off the music but with 600 tracks, they ain't letting you turn shyt off.
I'd love to turn the music off, the items off and just race around the tracks or world. That ain't happening.
I see in battle mode or custom races you don't have the option to choose which items you want like in 8 also.
200cc is coming as well as more shyt, just gotta wait.
If it wasn't for knockout mode, this game would get stale fast.
