Why is this story being blown up? The lede on ESPN is "Mark Cuban on Friday suggested the Los Angeles Lakers should amnesty Kobe Bryant in the offseason."

Unless I'm seeing different remarks, he definitely didn't say that

He does know they're still under .500, right? And besides, Kobe playing great doesn't really disprove Cuban's (unrealistic) point.

You couldn't sound more mad if you tried.

Lakers have won 11 of their last 15 games and just made up a game and a half in one day.

....but they're still under .500. Correct?

Yes, and if they make the playoffs under .500 what would it even matter? Is making the playoffs not the actual goal for every team? :heh:

Check back with me after the next game and ask that question though.

No he didn't. He only said Kobe wasn't worth 30 million to a team that's deep in the luxury tax and, as of today, not even in the playoffs. On the court, that's true. Only Lebron's worth half of a team's cap.

But once you take into account Kobe's worldwide marketability off the court, amnestying Kobe is a silly idea. Which is why I called his point "unrealistic", and just a way to troll Kobe stans, which is working BTW.
