There's a good chance Vick could start. Keep in mind they were gonna have Sanchez start over Geno last year until he got hurt.

Here's the difference.

Rex was willing to ride or die with Fez and thought there was still a future with Fez.

If Geno loses out to Vick, all it's gonna mean is that they need a completely new QB after Vick /Smith go.

Vick's just here to determine if Geno's worth it

Mark Sanchez isnt even that bad mates. he has made some big plays and some nice plays in his career. I as a sick c*nt blame the Jets for mismanagement. Sanchez had a run with two AFC championships then fell off simply because of talent and play calling around him

he deserves another chance mates

It's not about being better. I think most people aren't getting it.

We already know what Vick is. A solid QB: nothing more, nothing less. Add to the fact that he's going to be 34 and can't stay healthy. His best days are behind him. He's not a long term solution. He's a stop gap solution

We still don't know what Geno is. He's the unknown, and the Jets are still trying to figure out if he's the solution at QB or not. And because of that, he will get the nod. If he continues to fukk up, then you plug in Vick.
You made a lot of valid points but I disagree with what you're saying...

True vick is 34 & can't stay consistently healthy but you're saying that plus the coaching staff needing to find out if geno is the long term answer will be enough to give him the nod & it won't be. Better yet ask nick foles how that turned out for him in training camp last year.

The philly local media, beat writers & plenty of fans wanted foles to start with a passion over vick, chip said it would be a open competition in camp & vick clearly looked better & outperformed foles. He(vick) hurt his hamstring & foles caught lighting in a bottle. And for the record I still don't believe in foles & I think he'll get exposed early next year especially if jackson is traded but they will have the
"ALL PRO COOOOOOOOP"...:beli:

Plenty of people including rex himself thought he would fired at the end of last year & if they underachieve this year the whole coaching staff & maybe even the GM will be gone. So do you think they care about hurt feelings??? The best QB will start & I would bet vick will have a lot to prove & win the starting job in TC. Will he keep it & stay healthy? Odds are against him but he knows this is his last chance at a possible starting gig.

The bolded is where you start to lose it.

First of all, assuming Vick wins the job and everything, at that point, the fans would wonder if Geno would ever be the guy. See, Foles didn't get drafted to be the franchise QB whereas Geno was brought in under a new regime to hopefully replace the incumbent, who was Fez. Unless Geno replaced Vick and succeeded the way Foles did, nobody would trust Geno to one day lead the team to future success. Chip Kelly wasn't committed to either QB. Their management wasn't committed to either QB. Fez was someone else's QB. Rex has no commitment or allegiance to either Geno or Vick. Idzik though, has a lot riding on Geno. If Geno fails, that's on Idzik.

The reality is that there's nothing to gain short or long term by Vick starting. They're not winning the Superbowl. This is a 5 win team at best that fukked around and won 8 games. All they're doing is hoping their talent reflects an 8 win team because it doesn't right now. At best, they go 9-7 next year, and that's if everything breaks well, and then what, Vick leaves, nobody entrusts Geno and then you have to conduct ANOTHER QB search? See how much of a waste of time that is?

That said, barring an absolute dreadful season, Rex isn't getting fired. Even with a horrible season, Idzik's far from getting fired, so all of this is less on Vick and more on Geno. Why? Vick's contributions to the team are inconsequential.
