The bolded is where you start to lose it.

First of all, assuming Vick wins the job and everything, at that point, the fans would wonder if Geno would ever be the guy. See, Foles didn't get drafted to be the franchise QB whereas Geno was brought in under a new regime to hopefully replace the incumbent, who was Fez. Unless Geno replaced Vick and succeeded the way Foles did, nobody would trust Geno to one day lead the team to future success. Chip Kelly wasn't committed to either QB. Their management wasn't committed to either QB. Fez was someone else's QB. Rex has no commitment or allegiance to either Geno or Vick. Idzik though, has a lot riding on Geno. If Geno fails, that's on Idzik.

The reality is that there's nothing to gain short or long term by Vick starting. They're not winning the Superbowl. This is a 5 win team at best that fukked around and won 8 games. All they're doing is hoping their talent reflects an 8 win team because it doesn't right now. At best, they go 9-7 next year, and that's if everything breaks well, and then what, Vick leaves, nobody entrusts Geno and then you have to conduct ANOTHER QB search? See how much of a waste of time that is?

That said, barring an absolute dreadful season, Rex isn't getting fired. Even with a horrible season, Idzik's far from getting fired, so all of this is less on Vick and more on Geno. Why? Vick's contributions to the team are inconsequential.
Very good points.

The thing is though rex has came out publicly saying he wished they signed DRC. Fans want a big splash, they got vick, there are strong rumors that they're trying to trade for D-jax.

Yes you're 100% right, Idzik has a lot riding on geno, but what's most important is keeping his job, if it's geno or vick. The organization current regime has to win now & they will go with the better player...

There's a good chance Vick could start. Keep in mind they were gonna have Sanchez start over Geno last year until he got hurt.

That was because the coach was infatuated with Sanchez and was going to start him no matter what. Regardless of how bad he looked.

This team is in no position to "win now" though. we're always gonna demand it because it's been 46 years and counting since the last Superbowl, but realistically this team is mediocre and everyone knows it. Rex and Idzik are at 2 different points as far as urgency is concerned. The pressure is 10x more on Rex than it is on Idzik. Idzik still has the "let me hire my own coach" card if shyt doesn't work out.

If Rex wanted to go with the better player, then last year's charade of a QB battle would have never happened.

It's a one year deal. He isn't starting and won't behind that line
Nah, Rex still has to hold on to his job, and the NFL is a win now as opposed to a build for the future league, and Geno isn't some game changing QB (and in my personal opinion won't ever be) anyway... Vick is going to end up the starter at some point. I do think Geno will still be the opening day starter though.

Sad to see Vick go :salute:
The positive is that he is still relatively close to Philly. His wife is from Philly. Plus NY is a bigger market so I guess some good can come from it in terms of money off the field. I think NY would be a good market for Desean Jackson too. I want to see all them boys get money and do good even if they not wearing an Eagles Jersey.

damn vick

will be wierd seeing you get sacked by my nikka Wake and ill have to cheer
If you cheer that...you're a c00n. :camron:

The Jets not being a build for the future team is why they're in this position now

Compare their seasons to geno

I think the point was that statistically, Geno's rookie season was on par with these other QBs rookie seasons, and you can't gage a body of work after one year.

I don't get this rookie QBs only get one season to prove themselves mentality. That's the dumbest expectation in all of sports in my opinion.
