I don't even know WTF you're supposed to take away from that trailer besides, "aha, meta right?" What the hell is the "superhero" of it all? No one knows Wonder Man's powers or story
Not even the comic writers know what his powers are. At least he's getting live action attention.

This.

Its obvious Disney is wanting to pivot Marvel away from solely cape shyt and wants to start playing with the more diverse concepts and subjects that Marvel Universe has. “She Hulk” was Marvel basically trying to make a fourth wall breaking sitcom. “Agatha All Along” was them trying to make a horror/supernatural project in the same vein as the Whedonverse. so far the most successful of these has been “werewolf by night” which was a love letter to the universal monsters and pulp stories of the 40s.

In theory, this isn’t a bad idea. when you look at Star Wars for example, the best Disney era projects have been projects that mesh genres, but in the Star Wars universe (andor, rogue one, season one and two of Mando).

when it comes to Marvel however, Disney Keeps neglecting the fact that you still need to provide stylistic action, solid acting AND interesting cinematography to get the average viewer interested.

someone on here said it (I think it was @O.Red) and I’m paraphrasing …that Disney cant help themselves and at their core really don’t want boys to be interested in their properties. They severely overestimate the appeal of the MCU and theyre arrogant enough to think that they can push the envelope of what superhero stories look like AND drop the over the top action . Its not gonna work and Disney doesn’t understand that they are now facing stiff competition from anime and manga. Kids in America don’t have to watch comic book movies to get their fill of stylized action .
I swear I read a business report recently that said Disney is going to focus on selling to boys again. They know pandering to girls with boy things ain't working.

he gets the role b/c he's willing to somehow get the powers... that's my guess at least.

Feels like he'll do anything to be this character. Ends up with the burden of being a superhero
It's an interesting concept: An actor who tries to method-act his way to superhero.

Its worth taking this kind of risk on a D-tier hero. And I'm also happy the trailer isn't just telling us the whole story or even the turning point in his origin.

I'm intrigued, but predictably the Coli wasn't. Y'all just want to see Blade swing his sword and mean mug the camera for an hour :troll:

No they don't. They still haven't learned anything:mjlol:

These nikkas managed to run Star Wars and Marvel into the ground, what the fukk else can they buy? Any other IP they buy they're gonna make the same mistake because they refuse to face their flaws

They did.
What did they learn? What's the point of scooping new male IPs when they can't even acknowledge how they ruined the ones they already have?:mjlol:

They fukked up Star Wars and Marvel:dahell::mjlol: It don't get more "for boys" than that:mjlol: They could just fix those but like I said they don't wanna do the work

I have no idea why they even thought they could do that. If your number one goal is making money and you were setting records. Why in the fukk would you mess with that formula?

I’ve never seen a company that got successful focusing on women and kids shift their focus to men and grown at the height of their popularity. It’s normally “if it’s not broke don’t fix it” but for marvel and Star Wars they thought they would do better by abandoning its core base? That’s a fireable offense If I ever seen one

I actually would've liked them use Mosiac for something like this. He's new enough to where he pretty much a blank slate, and he has a similar enough personality to Simon where there's not much they needed to change...and they could play with his powers, nix the Inhuman origin and set some standard or redefinition. Plus, it would've given Abdul-Mateen plenty of room to stretch his acting chops, a la Quantum Leap-style Sam Beckett
