Did sumfin diff w/ this going in i have no f'n clue who Wonderman is power set rouges nothing and kept it that way. Also Mandarin one of my fav villains growing up so im pissed @ how MCU handled it.
That being said: i liked this joint a diff take on a Marvel series. Thought Doorman ep was a brilliant way to explain an issue instead of run of the mil exposition. The Trev redemption the final scene had me like uhhh until I finally read up on who he is & skill set

Solid 3.5 :ehh:

Shang Chi corrected it a bit.

I'm sure after Secret Wars they will address the Mandarin situation and handle it differently

depressing show, that gets absolutely rushed in the last episode and a half, and i'm not even sure what the point of it all was... but hey, it was a good quick watch. if they would've focused on these "Marvel Spotlight" things the whole time with maybe 1 series a year that is crucial to the movie timelines, we'd probably be in a better place with the mcu right now. not like Wonderman can't just show up randomly whenever the hell they want him to b/c he was in a "spotlight" that didn't have a 50 mcu storyline quota to hit in each episode.

I have more questions as how he got his powers vs what I read about the OG character
So I’m assuming he is a mutant in the MCU
And everybody close to him knew but never said anything or acknowledged it
So all we got was vague conversations alluding to his powers
Ben Kingsley and Ya-Ya can act but this format of using this series as buddy cop or old characters unlocking new characters bothers me for some odd reason
I get the show and the premise but I would’ve like Simon to have been more of an origin story then if greenlit for a second season
The foundation would’ve been set for everything this season dealt with
Episode 4 had me:jbhmm:
I never knew it was so many characters I never knew existed
Cool Easter and references to Cloak/Dagger(show got done dirty)
But then reading on him made me go:leon:
3/5

It had the feel of an indie movie and it helps that the writing was great and the acting was great. Not done the entire series but I'm enjoying this fresh take on a man with powers in the MCU.

This shyt was flames. People are disappointed because they wanted a typical comic book show, but this is a character study carried by acting and writing with very little action. Ben Kingsley and Yahya Manteen did the damn thing, some high level acting.

Yeah, just finished up the series today and overall it was a surprise in just how much I enjoyed it :obama:. Like others have mentioned, it really is a buddy show centered on the developing friendship between Simon and Trevor. Along with the meta aspect and Hollywood satire sprinkled across. It definitely has some of the best acting among any Marvel series, with real emotion and humor. And when the powers come into play, they are used in pivotal moments.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II really is a great actor and I hope he finds more film work that lets him show off his comedic side, or just interesting projects.

This was an absolute treat that really blew me away. It just felt totally different from what they've done. Much more focus on the characters and universe building. Standalone stories like this keeps me interested, not everything needs to be a stepping stone for the next Marvel project. There was just so much heart in this, everyone crushed it.

This is by far my favourite Marvel show they've done.
