They'll reboot the Avengers with new actors after Secret Wars.

It'll be interesting what the storytelling approach will be, because with varying degrees of success (and failure), they've already cycled through Civil War, Secret Wars, Age of Ultron, Infinity Gauntlet, Secret Invasion ( :mjlol: ), Kang Dynast (:mjlol:) etc. Now there is an infinite number of stories to adapt (or -more commonly- use as a framework for original stories/loose adaptations) but it'll be interesting what the actual plan/end game (no pun) is after.

Resetting everything is the best possible move but is still only half the battle :pachaha:

honestly a reboot won't save them. They just need to bring the og cast back, let them treat like a legacy project until they get too old. on some Hugh Jackman type shyt. The retire the franchise for a while. Then come back with a reboot for the next generation in like 20 years.

I remember when MCU movie where guaranteed to do 700 mill minimum :wow:
they said 2025 is the first year since 2011 with no superhero movie hitting 700MM ww. (not counting 2020 obviously which had no superhero movies)

This was just released digitally, and I finally watched this. It was decent. Probably the best FF movie (not a high bar I know).

They actually made Reed's stretching powers look good.

Vanessa Kirby as Sue was the best part of the movie for me (out of the main cast).

Also, yes, Susan Storm is EXTREMELY powerful in the comics, so her pushing back Galactus wasn't surprising to me (like I've seen it was to some of you here).

Julia Garner's Silver Surfer was better than I expected.

I'm a huge fan of the early '60s retrofuturistic vibe and aesthetic.

I wonder how they end up in the main MCU timeline? That is something that i thought would happen by the end of this movie. Maybe Doom travels through the multiverse, and they follow after Doom who has kidnapped Franklin?

I liked this just bout the same as thunderbolts... really enjoyed the first half... you don't always have to do origin story in the first film...

also liked that galactus .. and prob ss still there for a later movie..

I realize now in comparison to Thunderbolts not having a central character as PoV hurt this film.

Sue and Reed came the closest but I think they needed to hold off the Franklin reveal until the third act as a desperate alternative.

Galactus should have just attempted to devour Earth as planned

Great visually

Movie wasn’t bad…but it wasn’t good either.

All the characters are miscast. Joseph Quinn doing his best rdj impression while playing Johnny storm was extremely jarring.

Also shoehorning f4 origin story, silver surfer, galactus and franklin richards( and aging him up at the end) all into one movie so they can speed run to doomsday was a horrible decision.

i still don't buy that the F4 can't work. for all the shyt the MCU has gotten for making everyone into a Tony Stark quip machine... they shoulda fukkin made these 4 into Tony Stark quip machines. people are twisting themselves into pretzels telling you how much they enjoyed the performances. it's bullshyt. none of them were exciting. at least make one of them a "character."

good characters, good fun, the cool world, and more Galactus and you probably have a F4 that "works."

i'm a broken record, but it seems like they were so afraid of being compared to Incredibles, which is a carbon copy of the Fantastic 4, that they chopped all the fun out as to not be compared. it's like when that movie John Carter came out, fukkin sucked, and then had people defending how it influenced Star Wars, etc. make it more Star Wars then, lean into it. who the fukk wants to see a more boring Luke Skywalker in a less fun world? why even bother greenlighting it?

a 5 minute opening fight vs Mole Man would have been fukkin fun. yeah, dumbasses woulda said, "that's like Incredibles," but you work with what you got. make it a different setpiece and roll
Yeah I don't buy the oft used cop out "the fantastic four just doesn't work". No one thought Iron Man would work until it did.
