It was okay, but not great. The aesthetics of the 60s Kirby/Lee quirkiness was excellent. There's some elements of the early comics that work. But A LOT of the plot beats were rehashed from Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Sue Storm was great, and Vanessa Kirby played it well. Shallah Bal was good too. The rest of the cast were a mixed bag. First off, Reed. Pascal was pretty bland, and he definitely isn't Reed Richards. Or I'll say I didn't like the portrayal of Reed...the writers don't get the character...maybe the internal hidden monologue, but not the demeanor, the actions, the outward personality. Ben was cool, but not enough, and Johnny didn't have the personality. Much of the chemistry needed wasn't there. Oh yeah, Galactus is another that doesn't really work in an action movie.

So, you put Vanessa Kirby's Sue in the Tim Story F4 movies, and you have something...at least with the cast. But once again, they don't do anything. AT this point, just keep them in space, Family Robinson style. I don't think there'll ever be a great F4 movie. It was okay for what it was.

Really enjoyed this. Best F4 adaptation by far, granted, the bar was pretty damn low. There’s a layer of seriousness, in part due to story and Giacchino’s putting on another banger, that benefits the entire thing. I was skeptical after Gunn’s departure, but Shakman’s a worthy successor of handling the cosmic side of Marvel. The space section here was probably the most locked-in I felt with an MCU entry in quite some time.

Shalla-Bal was catchin’ strays on here when announced but she had some of the best lookin’ moments in the joint. :whew:

Some of y’all owe my guy Pedro an apology. Genuinely excited to see his interactions with RDJ, who I’m sure will kill it as well. I see the

Landed at a 4/5 3.5/5. Thought it only scratched the surface with what Reed and Galactus can do in their action bits but honestly, this and Supes accomplished what felt like the impossible over the years in finally getting their prized characters right at the core and having me buy into wanting to see more of them. Glad Kirby got his shouts.
Alright then, seeing it this this weekend off the strenff. :wow:

If it's ass, expect monthly negs on the 1st like government assistance.

I really wish The Thing would've been a different voice and had the Yancy Street Gang fukking with him

Why does it seem like they neutered Johnny for this shyt brehs? Dude just seems completely bland and uninteresting. Anyone who seen it can confirm?

They said they didn’t want to make him come off as an a$$hole, which i don’t mind. Chris evans overplayed him as a jerk, especially to Ben. But they didn’t highlight enough of his cockiness

The wait for tomorrow will be hard. I wanna read yall impressions but I know my coli brehs like to get spoilery with their thoughts :pachaha: seems like this is really goood tho, from the few posts I read.

I immediately want to see this again. i havent felt that way about a comic book movie in a minute...aside from the Spiderverse animated movies

Because early Johnny Storm would be "problematic" in this era

yup...this is Johnny Storm for the post Me-Too era
