I liked the movie but I think they played it safe, with the runtime, comedy, even action. I get it. I'm thinking they felt like they had to, because of how everything after Endgame has been received. The buildup to these Avengers movies is nowhere near the same as the buildup to IW and Endgame. The only movie left before Doomsday is Spiderman right? Feige has his work cut out for them.

I think they’re ready considering we have a lot of known characters, that they dont need to introduce/reintroduce. They can go right into the story of the villian and conflict, especially since its two movies

Feels like a copout to spend an entire movie building up to save a baby then turn around and have the baby get got in the after credits. And from a random threat not linked to the main one.

I haven't seen this, but haven't all the previous :trash: FF movies done an origin story to boot?
I think the new normal for the re-boots is to just kind of jump into the movie. Assume the audience has a core understanding of who they were watching. Maybe sprinkle in some backstory like F4 did here. But, I don't really think they need to invest in large origin stories anymore. Just takes up valuable runtime.

Dont see how it “got got”..and it was 4 years later
The movie goes from conception to birth but there’s no time to get enjoy seeing the baby grow up. He’s born under threat, does a miracle, then is captured.

Time is irrelevant. There’s no breathing room.

It would be like if Spidey and Gwen’s relationship was only her death and Peter awkwardly watching her. The actual relationship is just skipped over. Like you need to see the characters grow to create a bond.

My first thought was that they shot this before they decided what they were doing but RDJ was officially announced last year and probably inked the deal months before that so they could have shot that scene even a couple months ago if they wanted.

I’m praying theres a twist because just seeing tony stark dressed as doom just ain’t gonna do

Nah. I’m a different person with a different opinion than yours.

Thunderbolts wants us to believe this group became a tight family in the span of 24 hrs.
Yeah it’s insane in reality but the fact is we got to watch them bond against a threat from within their group so the finale worked. Plus we watched them have interpersonal dynamics within that group.

Doom/Latveria is barely mentioned.

Franklin isn’t even a real character yet.

I liked the movie, its 8.5

But i dont really care to see ironman play doom, one of the most iconic villains in comic history
like has been mentioned. RDJ is to cover the "real" Doom. I think this is one of those situations where the expectations are at an apex and they didn't want to see the actual "Doom" choice get bombed to death before anything actually made it to film. People don't love the RDJ Doom. But, I think it buys time to drip in the real Doom in the Doomsday movies. I don't really know the Stark Doom storyline but I feel this is a good spot to play with it. I want to be surprised by the real "Doom" reveal. And I think there was a chance if people were told from go it would've been a lot like how people responded to this cast announcement for F4. And granted I still don't really love the choices of Pedro and Jonathan Quinn, I feel my original judgement of them was misguided.
