like has been mentioned. RDJ is to cover the "real" Doom. I think this is one of those situations where the expectations are at an apex and they didn't want to see the actual "Doom" choice get bombed to death before anything actually made it to film. People don't love the RDJ Doom. But, I think it buys time to drip in the real Doom in the Doomsday movies. I don't really know the Stark Doom storyline but I feel this is a good spot to play with it. I want to be surprised by the real "Doom" reveal. And I think there was a chance if people were told from go it would've been a lot like how people responded to this cast announcement for F4. And granted I still don't really love the choices of Pedro and Jonathan Quinn, I feel my original judgement of them was misguided.

That would be cool but also, you could be setting yourself up for failure if they play it straight

The movie goes from conception to birth but there’s no time to get enjoy seeing the baby grow up. He’s born under threat, does a miracle, then is captured.

Time is irrelevant. There’s no breathing room.

It would be like if Spidey and Gwen’s relationship was only her death and Peter awkwardly watching her. The actual relationship is just skipped over. Like you need to see the characters grow to create a bond.
There was a nice, quiet scene between Reed and Franklin in the lab that stood out to me, where he tells his son how he hopes Franklin's nothing like him cause he thinks there’s something wrong with him. Pedro knocked that one out, shyt had me :to:

That was a great moment, also the part where Sue kinda cussed Reed out for thinking about the possibility of giving up Franklin.

I love the fact that they are highlighting Reeds insane pragmatism into his character that could turn him into a heel eventually. Thats a huge part of his personality the other adaptations never really touched upon

Y’all got a decision to make Marvel Set.

Y’all claim yall don’t want RDJ as Doom.

But yall want Avengers 5&6 to be great.

But if it’s great he stays…..

Beyond the fact they take ten years to make Avengers movies where exactly do you go with Doom after such a major escalation like Secret Wars? Can’t just go back to making inventions to kill Reed Richards.

Wait so

The stinger in thunderbolts was the FF entering mcu616. Which i thought would be the climax of this movie…i guess thats for another adventure or something :jbhmm:
are we sure it’s even them at all. Considering who directed both post credit scenes (thunderbolts and F4) and they were both shot on the set of Doomsday I believe.

I will say

I'm hoping that we get a return of Galactus at some point. I hate that he had to be the catalyst in this. Felt cheap to use him like that. Kind of reminded me of what went wrong with the First Class movies. Where they started making each film a one off of a storyline that could have been their own trilogies etc. I get not wanting to make him just appear like another Thanos but, Galactus needs a better usage overall for this

Galactus, Ultron and Thanos will serve Doom in Secret Wars :wow:
