I've always viewed Marxism and its offshoots as a means to collectively deter the natural tendency of the human element.

Ive always viewed capitalism as encouraging that element, but not an ideology in its own right.

Capitalism, in theory, encourages the rewarding of exceptionalism that Marxism attempts to keep at bay.

As most people know, I view humans (at least enough of us) as being largely self interested. So in the end, no matter what ideology you perceive as ideal, the end result will be ruin. It's in our nature.
I change my mind on this almost weekly, and as far as I know, the inherent nature of man is far from a settled matter. you should spin this into a thread and drop some texts/studies for debate.

That's not what he said.
The cac wanted everyone to be miserable like him. He said lets eliminate private ownership of capital and give everyone back meaning in their work through social ownership and social production. i.e. "lets all be poor because hes a hating ass nikka" :dead:

What u put in the quotes at the end... isnt the same as what the philosophy is...

How much is a man worth... how much is an hour of his time.?

Ur saying everyone would be miserable...

Smh.

But now most ppl are miserable, some ppl are starving to death... and a smaller percentage is living like gods.

But I suspect this is a thread created by an agent to find out how ppl think...

So disregard everything I just said...

This thread is filled with people who clearly have never read Marx---I would not expect you to do so, it is heady, complicated, and at times hard to digest. If you want to understand it, read David Harvey's " Reading Marx's Capital with David Harvey".

Marx was thorough but did have a few flaws and things he did not account for (race--a western construct of categorization). Ultimately one of the issues that I have with his work is his somewhat deterministic view of society, economics, and technology. Gramsci was fire and so was Althusser. If you sit and read it and apply it to case studies e.g, Gig Work. it makes hella sense.

On the off note, yes, we are all shaped and are part of capitalism---because, duh. we are born and encultured in it. This does not mean you have to be a capitalist or not be one. Everyone has to make a living, there is no ethical consumption under capitalism.

COVID19 and the class divide is the biggest example of this. If you not seeing the connection...read.

Wouldn't you consider marx western himself? I don't think he overlooked race, it just wasn't that important to him

Of course, he was indeed a westerner scholar. I was more commenting on how race as a category is a western idea (a bit off-topic).

Right, Race was not important to him. This is partly my beef. We also cannot expect scholars from the past to discuss everything, it is impossible. Still, his contributions are and continue to be important.

theres nothing wrong with communism, without the soviets, no social reforms wouldve ever happened in western countries and since their demise, the western countries economics has gotten progressively worse as more and more is taken away. also they are the ones who stopped the nazis, they fought over 200 german fronts at the same time while the western countries were fighting proxy wars in north africa trying to protect their colonies, and typically communists at least in the states would be less racist than most groups including socialists and trade union leaders

also capitalism uses violence all the time to stay in power and nobody bats an eye but if a leftist does it, somehow its bad. like what do you think? you can overthrow capitalists and they just let you live in peace? if youre not constantly on point like a well trained army then capital will retake control in an instant. there has never been a single leftist country that wasnt constantly under siege from capital during its whole existence

and please foh with the hater shyt. thats like saying the slaves were just hating on the masters or the serfs were just hating on the lords.

the black book of communism or whatever its called includes like nazi deaths as being related to communism foh its pure propaganda

Lies. Marx was inherently racist. He made a whole asiatic mode of production where he lumped in Indians chinks and pakis as peoplw needing a despot.

And as far as Africa...oh boy
