I started watching wrestling again AFTER this mask gimmick, and watching this makes me feel bad for Cody.

Dude was the truth back then. The mask itself was mad goofy but he had something going, and now he's just a regular nikka.

Worst part is that they had a perfect opportunity to further the character when Orton legit fukked up Cody with the ring bell and had him bleeding all over the place on Smackdown and had to get stitches for real. Was a perfect chance to take the character to the next level with some life imitating art accident but they fukked it up as usual.

That's why I have no hope for guys like Breh Wyatt and Ambrose coming in with interesting gimmicks. WWE will accidentally stumble upon complex or hot characters, then cut them off at the knees. Happened with Truth and happened to Rhodes. And to a lesser extent Daniel Bryan.

Cody was on his way to being huge late last year. Then they took all momentum away from him just like that. He still has a chance because he can cut a promo and he's above average in the ring. I definitely think he'll be a world champion by next year at some point.

agreed, yet, this anger management skit stuff is showing a bit of promise in terms of the creative team and complexities within characters. its providing me with some hope, even though i know it's probably false hope and they'll just botch this too at some point in the near future.
