Banning firearms in Canada will not have the same effect that it does in countries like Australia and the UK.
Canada shares a border with the USA who has more guns than people. They just double downed on their 2nd amendment with a supreme Court decision. So guns are there to stay. Our Canada/US border is mostly unmanned, and to top it off the parts that are manned by the CBSA are illequipped to properly search majority of shipments. This has been addressed in Parliamentt, by CBSA themselves, and by other law enforcement agencies.
Banning firearms isn't going to stop criminals who use them for nefarious acts from obtaining them and using them in Canada.
