If Twitter suddenly stops working, or dies a slow death due to features randomly going away and people leaving, what are the leading candidates to take its place :jbhmm:

And can any of these alternatives combine the social/discussion aspect of Twitter with its capacity to quickly disseminate important information about events?

What do y'all think?

I signed up for Hive but it doesn't have the ease of use of Twitter.

Mastodon seems more like an alternative to Discord than to Twitter.

Ya'll so corny with this "Twitter is dying"

The only change is verified badges and three days of the entire TL crying

These tech companies give ppl cushy jobs that aren't needed

Dude locked down the entire building and Twitter literally didn't go down for a minute

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I work at a large company (2000+ employees) and if the three people on my team left the company would be left in complete shambles. Which is why we get paid what we do.

And locking down the building doesn't matter. I highly doubt Twitter has any on-prem servers.

Please shut the fukk up with your goofy ass hot takes.

it's not hive social thats for sure because they don't even have a web interface.

twitter embeds alone are on forums, chat apps, news articles and news aggregator sites. twitter is heavily entrenched online and a viable alternative will have to replace all of that functionality.

It's probably going to be blue sky. Blue sky sounds like it's going to be similar to wechat.

What's wechat?

What specifically in my reply gave you the impression I took it personal? How could I when it was such a garbage take? :skip:
