Kendrick is the better choice for headlining a musical event in terms of marketability, Lil Wayne isn't as marketable or that big of a draw anymore as he was during his prime and notable years (2008-2013/14), as crazy as it may sound but he's kinda an afterthought in the grand scheme of things.

Now, him being a performer at the event is a different story, but serving as a headliner? Nah, Wayne fell off in terms of being a big draw for a musical event such as the Superbowl Halftime Show; if this was Wayne during the ''08-'14 run, it'd be different, but nowadays, people are not thirsting or going to “pushing and shoving” to hear Lil Wayne.
He fell off in 2011

Wayne has been in the game since he was like 14 and has 100 hit records. He was a far better choice and I don't care if you nikkas think kendrick a better lyricist or whatever.
I mean what songs Kendrick going to perform for 30 Minutes “Swimming Pools”? :mjlol: Wayne got the catalog.

Wayne would create zero buzz in 2025. No one cares that Wayne is there other than Wayne fans and devoted hip hop fans. He doesn't have casual buzz anymore.

Kendrick was the biggest rap artist of the year across the globe, he created a cultural phenomenon. And he was the voice of BLM summer too. And he was the voice of Black Panther too. And people loved his O.G. grammy performance. (I'm listing casual shyt that made waves outside of hip hop.)

Not Like Us
Euphoria
The Heart Part 5
Family Ties
Alright
King Kunta
Humble
bytch, Don’t Kill My Vibe
Swimming Pools
Money Trees

Kendrick hasn’t had solo hits since 2017 except for the diss songs to Drake.

Crazy they chose him over Wayne :dead:
I mean they used to pick old ass groups like The Who and people like that who hasn’t had hits in 20 years or something. Picking Kendrick should be fine. My problem is they’re going to run out of rappers to use soon cause they’re going through them too quick. You’ll have the ones that think they don’t need to do the halftime show then you’ll have the ones that people will say can’t do it because they’re not popular like that.

He actually doesn’t have the catalog to do that show in 2024. Lollipop and A Milli are his biggest songs. What kind of reach is that going to have on an international stage these days? Super Bowl needs to be done by someone with a high level of relevance and visibility. The man has zero international hits. Where are the Billboard #1 singles?

Wayne is most certainly a legend, but he’s gotta know his role here. Kendrick was the proper choice.

Read my post. No Billboard number 1s, no international reach.

Wayne is good in the hood, but as the Super Bowl headliner…

Nah

N95 and The Heart Part 5 charted higher than anything Wayne's done since 2016, and that's leaving out Not Like Us, Euphoria, and Meet the Grahams.

Then you have Like That, Die Hard, Silent Hill, Family Ties, and the whole Black Panther soundtrack.

Funny thing is that Wayne's biggest hit of the last decade was Mona Lisa where he got that Kendrick stimulus.
