He could've easily killed dooku using an aggressive form 5 fighting style just as anakin did.
What sith lords did Yoda duck when the rule of two was still in effect and palpatine/plagueis was hiding in plain sight and maul was getting sith assassin training in far off remote locations?
Jedi temple was built on top of an old sith plot and palpatine/plagueis/dooku were using the dark side energy from it (magic,enchantments) to manipulate the actions of jedis. This caused the Jedi to fall to hubris and ignorance weakening them by the day.
