why he take the mercury tho? was he forced to take them on in order to complete the suns deal?

I believe so, since Sarver also owned the Mercury. There was always going to be interest in making sure they were part of the deal, since they're one of the original eight teams, and are pretty popular.

Champions league
I guess Phoenix is a big market, still seems weird that team would be worth a billy more than the last sold team in such short amount of time
Crazy the sixers sold for $280mil ten years ago

Google says the owner is 'only' worth $5 billion, so he'll probably be day to day with the team.

if you're a billionaire you want to own a sports team, its the best club to get into to

he could simply be the majority owner and put up just enough to have controlling interest of the team and has other partners.

Above the fray.
How many black men got 4 billion to buy a team? No slight
Yeah, the thing is that people talk out of both sides of their mouths here. Perhaps, unknowingly.
There were multiple threads about racial disparities and gaps the past four years. The "wealth gap", in particular.
But when a pro sports franchise is sold, with a straight face, the same people will ask about where are the Black potential owners?

It's almost as if dudes don't believe the views they're repeating about the disparities and gaps. Just some trendy shyt to repeat, for them.
