That's a lot of money but it is basically what the market is paying. I honestly think Matt Ryan is one of the least talented starting QB's in the NFL and I think he is a glorified Matt Hasslebeck but it is what it is. Let him get his money even if Atlanta is dumb enough to pay it to him.

Other than Julio- who is a must resign?

Rice will play out his deal then Pierce will be the Ravens back. Good teams have quality players replacements before they leave. The QB is the toughest to replace, which is why he gets paid the most.
We would need to get a #2 and a #1 TE with Gonzo and Roddy gone in a couple of years.

Yeah bc Eli doesn't have any playoff stinkers. :Rudy: Not every QB takes the same career arc in the playoffs....Ryan played well in last years playoffs.

TWO SB wins and being clutch vs one play off win and one good playoff game his whole career?

again i hit u with the :what: when comparing Eli to Matt

He's arguably a top ten QB and he's had some individual success. In this league that as a QB that gets you a 100 million dollar contract these days. His team is right on the edge of getting to the Super Bowl and he has played a big part in that.

Everywhere...You never there.
Non pro-bowl, non all pro guys thought the rookie wage scale would benefit them....clearly hasnt. Top 1% getting the big bucks, while the rookies get their defined deals and the rest are left to pick up the scraps on year to year contracts.

...sounds like life, huh?

That's why you gotta love football. The game within a game within a game...unfolds right before your eyes. Even off the field.

Falcons are my early favourites to win it this year tbh

:heh:

Two teams you never bet on making it to the championship: Falcons and Clippers...

...they're built for the regular season only.

The players already CP3 don't fit like they did in New Orleans. If they fit like they did in New Orleans and had the talent they have in LA, he would be a title squad. Matt Ryan just doesn't cut it. His tools are at the bottom for starting QB's and he gets exposed constantly over the years v. very good or great teams.

Dog...good franchises with good gm's like the Falcons and Ravens plug players in via the draft. Julio isn't going anywhere and I guarantee you Ozzie Newsomw isn't losing an ounce of sleep losing Dannell Ellerbe(an UDFA) to the Dolphins.
that's just the thing, we haven't been that good at drafting outside of the first two rounds

If your well means playing a half of game then yes he played well. :leon:

Let's be real, Ryan NEVER had a good complete playoff game. He was the reason the Falcons didn't make it to the Super Bowl.

Yep, the defense giving up 28 second half points had nothing to do with it. If ATL's defense played even half as well as the Giants did during their SB runs we'd probably have won the SB last year.

So you going ignored Ry/an doing 3 and outs and throwing INTs that basically brought the Seahwaks and Niners back last year. :comeon:

are you going to ignore the defense giving up 28 second half points in both games? :comeon:

No, but I am not going to let Matt Ryan slide for playing his part for the loss. 3/outs and INT = defense on the field more and getting tired. Stop defelecting the blame on one unit.

you just did that when you said "He was the reason they didn't make the SB last year". I'm not excusing what Ryan did, but giving up 28 points in one half TWICE in the playoffs is unacceptable for a team with SB aspirations, regardless of what the offense does.
