It's market rate. Ryan is 27-11 in one score games in his career - that is really dependent on QB skill and clock management. Teams normally are about .500 in such games. He is worth the money.

1) concept of supply demand doesnt have anything to do with being a superstar

2) just because there is a demand doesnt mean its a *rightful* demand. if you hoard all beer in the city and charge 50 bucks a bottle there will be supply and demand. or you can go outside the box and order a box of beer from another city online. just because teams are qb-obsessed doesnt make it ok for qbs to be paid a 5th of total cap. shyt, some teams couldnt afford ryan even if they wanted him right now.

Lets just act like Ryan hasnt been trending upward the past two seasons anyways. He was a top 5 QB last year and was a c*nt hair away from the SB.

Ryan, in todays NFL is certainly a superstar. Its an offense driven league and the teams with consistent success are the teams who have stability/positive play from the QB position. Offense is much more consistent on a year to year basis than defense is.

hes no superstar. your definition of a superstar is someone who throws for ton of yards ? cutler and stafford superstars ? :heh:

again, you keep not addressing my main point
you think its ok to splurge on a qb, no matter how much, because hes a good qb
thats the root of the fukking problem

thats like allowing a nba team to splurge 3x the max for lebron
except in basketball you inherently need less people to make it work.

not to mention the whole thing about supply/demand is kinda garbage with influx of young qbs who play extremely well, its clear that the qb position has inflated considerably and there is nothign wrng
with paying rookies/ second year qbs peanuts and building a team with money freed.

The Falcons went 13-3 last year. What exactly is this problem?

He led the league in completion %. If you have a QB that you can't afford to lose you lock him up long term. I'd rather take the risk of overpaying the proven QB than running the risk of finding an equal in he draft. There are organizations in this league that have never had a QB a good as Ryan. You're talking to someone who would know.

you're didn't ryan's inflated stats into context.

just had to point that out.

Which stats are inflated compared to Bledsoe's?

Bledsoe was a pretty good QB, there's just nothing he did better than Ryan.

I give him credit for taking over a bad team but Ryan did too.

I blame Joe Flacco.
what about bradford getting 50 mill guaranteed before he even put on a ram jersey?

what about injury prone stafford getting almost 20 million per season?

idk why yall so surprised about this, its a qb driven league now, and with the numbers he has put up in the last 3-4 seasons he deserves it.

not surprised, it was to be expected. more likely predictably disgusted
