So he can't express himself ubless he meets some sort of baseline proficiency?

People post music everyday without being professionals or experienced

At the end of the day, it's his music performed to a level satisfactory to himself. He chose to share it with the world and the word can listen if they chose

I heard the first couple tracks and wasn't blown away but it wasn't offensively bad to me

Like, "Oh, this is cool" and moved on

Dude ain't harming anybody with this album. And with all the shyt going on in the music industry, his piano skills ain't hurting nobody either way :russ:

He can but it's as arrogant as it is being deemed.

Towards fans and musicians.

Dudes like "hey look at me I suck at multiple instruments and feel no need to get better before presenting myself as a recording and touring musician"

Like I said what he did on that flute at Jazz festivals was disrespectful to the audience and other musicians. He got top billing to go massacre an instrument on stage. Played like a kid learning in school.

Strapping a whole baby grand to your back as a rollout when you can play the thing is diabolical.

Lets not be hypocrites cuz it's Jazz. We have the same issue when someone decides to exploit hiphop and is terrible at it yet successful.

It's not just about doing it cause you can do it. What about their culture in Jazz?

Some touring musician got a spot and potential money taken from them by a multimillionaire who sounds like Vanessa on the CLarinet.

Nikka sound like a hater :manny:

Critique is fine, but there's a way to do it without tearing someone down

Not like Andre was being arrogant and disrespectful to other jazz pianists. He never made the project out to be more than what it is. Him having fun on the piano playing whatever came to mind

He’s wearing a piano on his back, he’s making it out to be more than what it is.

Sometimes people need to be reminding they fukking suck, and artists need to know not everything needs to be out in the world. It’s how so many untalented people get inspired nowadays because they see someone else do it.

The purpose of art is supposed to be expression

No matter how simple or complex, all artists are conveying something with their medium of choice

In this case, it's something personal to Andre. It might not mean much to us, but it's dishonest to assume foul intent when he's given no legitimate reason for us to

I think the condo would be better if it was reframed around bridging the gap. Elitism isn't gonna open up any doors. Shipp could've still offered valid critiques with a more measured tone along with constructive advice. Maybe offered to play with Andre to give him some pointers or at the very least engage with him. That wouldn't mean he's equal in proficiency. But it would show solidarity with someone who is at the very least interested in the instrument

Even if that interest isn't enough to pursue deeper study, it can still be a bridge to reach a new audience.

But that's just me thinking. If my name's gonna go viral for talking about 3 stacks, I'd rather it be for some shyt that doesn't make me look like a jealous mf :manny:

Fam, 3 Stacks is a multi millionaire and recorded almost the whole album on his Iphone and charged 8 bucks. What valid critique can you give a man who doesn't even take his own shyt serious?

Does this even sound like a nikka that's trying? This nikka gave an apology for the sound quality like an open mic nikka.

And once it's sold it's up for criticism. That simple. That's the difference. It's a product now and a bad one objectively.
I didn't say it can't be criticized. We all have done that ITT

My only issue is you want to decide who can and can't produce art in the first place

I ain't with that elitism shyt :manny:

Let people suck

Not everything has to be perfect. Simply the fact it exists is enough if that's what the artist intended

I'm still for the jokes, but the projection of I'll intent is what loses me :yeshrug:

Trying what?

Album can be listened to for free. You only pay if you want to

On top of that, he lays out the expectations and delivers exactly what it is

I dont get the problem. He ain't holding a gun to anybody head to listen to it :mjlol:

Listened to the first three songs…

Yeah, I’m not feeling it.

:snooze:
Oddly enough It actually starts to sound decent after about track 3.....at times. I don't think the critique is warranted. And I'm a guy that is highly in favor of critiques like this. Especially from a pro.

He kind of is. Now I've been clasically trained on the II do think it's a slight to pianist and flutest who have actually dedicated time and precision to their craft. They won't get invited to a Jazz Festival like 3 Stacks.

That's because you're a bytch ass punk concerned about what other people are doing.

You like it, don't like it, who cares.

Dre's statement, perfect.

It is arrogance and i can see why hes mad

Andre is a look at me motherfukker if i ever saw one

Guy says he wants to get away from spotlight

Yet playing flute in street like a homeless vagrant.

Releases an album of sketches he made on his iphone… but wont rap cause “hes too old”. When his style was never in style, got on for being mature. Now would be the time. But no. Because he knows if its wack his aura will suffer. Yet does this shyt because he knows its a safe bet to look artsy and not fukk his draw up.

Hes too old to not know he looks ridicukous. Everytbing with him is a show. Makes an album of pianos and goes to met gala with piano on his back and releases it same day. Literally demo one offs he made in 20 min. Its a slap in the face to people who work everyday at skills to be whi they are rhat he gets to just walk into that world and be a star.

this aint pure expression. This is aint putting on the next gen. This is vanity. Ego. Retail. 115 dollar shirts. And 45 dollar vinyls and a tour. Under the guise of “pure expression”. The same people sucking him off and saying that will shyt on a nobody with 10x the talent in a Heartbeat cuz he aint poppin.

This guy LOVES being a star; But he is cosplaying as a “artist”.

The Truth
He kind of is. Now I've been clasically trained on the piano myself so I am familiar with the instrument. 3 Stacks album is terrible. He is literally just mashing keys and playing random azz chords.

It's like Lil Wayne's Rockstar era when he was playing the guitar and pissing off real guitarist.

Or TI doing standup

3stacks literally recorded this on his iphone and is selling it for 8 bucks. He's 3 stacks so of course it's going to draw more attention than it deserves. He should play the instrument better. II do think it's a slight to pianist and flutest who have actually dedicated time and precision to their craft. They won't get invited to a Jazz Festival like 3 Stacks.

I mean

If 3k posted this along with the release :yeshrug:

He’s a real pianist though, so I understand the passion. It was harsh though without the context
