I been holding back saying this but I gotta be real, Max coming home from damn near 20 years to a billionaire French Montana, social media, endless thots and clout chasers, and the 2025 rap game might be a lot to deal with.

I think part of the magic of the past was that Max was living at the margins. Now he’s front and center and has all types of advantages he never had before. But is that wavy?

I’m not saying anything about him coming home. I’m saying maybe we’re expecting too much as fans. Those classics were made during a particular season in Max’s life. Maybe he isn’t in that season as much or certain elements that aren’t there helped in the magic.

Either way I agree, he should enjoy his freedom and the fruits of his past labor. I’m just beginning to bring down my expectations. That MAWA track was super meh, so I don’t wanna hold it against Max if this ain’t that same wave I’m used to.

I ain’t gonna lie, he’s fumbled the musical buzz and now he can only hope to be a personality as far as growing outside of non-niche audiences.
