I talked to some old people about voting for candidates like Bernie and other progressives they told my ass to pound sand including my grandmothers and their reasoning didn't have shyt to do with feeling safe. Wages will rise but only for very specific jobs in very specific fields

Those fields will be private sector, and those jobs will likely be for transplants and newcomers, which is what will attract them to come live in the city, ie. the ability to afford to live here
