For year 1 the people will blame hochul. For years 2+ they won’t care and just put everything on him. That’s why if he’s smart he’s making friends, he’s not going to be able to do it alone despite some people’s wishes.

no kidding.. that’s why he’s talked at length about how he would do it…

not getting funds from customers doesn’t mean it’s not going to get funds. there’s 101ways to do it from a public service standpoint. he’s gotta figure out the one that makes sense for NYC which is admittedly a huge metro.. and why a lot of major cities don’t have bus lines… but it is possible. we saw during Covid that it was possible.

They're getting funding through a dozen regressive taxes as it is and it still isn't enough. Working class and middle class can't take anymore

I'm all for getting the mta more funding and the city deserves a proper metro system but

I like making the bus free but when they're in a never ending fiscal crisis... that's just really not a great messaging
