Bomberman
Like a C4.
Never said he was a horrible boxer.... what happened with the BHop rematch tho when his reflexes and athletic ability started to fade?
If you're teaching someone how to box, would you have them emulate RJJ?
There are more disciplined and textbook boxers better than Roy, no disagreement there.
However, I'd say someone who has:
-Feinted James Toney out of his shoes for nearly 12 rounds.
-Got into BHop's head and out of his comfort zone while beating him at his own game when it came to roughing on the inside. Nearly every other fighter, BHop is in their head and the rough house tactics work the other way.
-Out pot-shotting both of them on the outside and making them look ridiculous missing.
-Counter punched both continuously.
I would say whoever could do that to both of those fighters knew how to box at a pretty high level.
While Roy was neither Floyd nor Pernell technically, dude was much better than your average good boxer and I don't think that's only because he was athletic.
Roy's mindgames in and out of the ring were phenomenal, which is a major part of boxing skills.
edit: And even Pernell at the late stages of his careeer was getting caught much more.
