Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Prob won't be another fight to make that much money, cause consumers are going to be skeptical about dropping 100$ on a PPV event again.
I had no horse in the race, was just hoping for a good fight, but man, it was a snoozefest. Nowhere near worth 100 bucks for it.

Boxing is a global sport, there will be another mega fight in the future.

Also, you better believe there's going to be a influx of kids picking up boxing when the numbers come out on just how much this fight actually made.

"why wont floyd fight margarito for 8 million? his biggest payday? hes scared"

bob arum 2006

we have come a long way from that nonsense

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

Verizon tripped up too

Their systems only allow $50 ppv buys for most households so to order the $99 fight you had to call and get approval, the department that Oks the approval closed at 6pm Saturday

So if you were trying to order after 6, if your account wasnt already unlocked you were screwed. I couldnt even order the fight, on screen said call #, you call #, they said it needs to be approved but they are closed. I was current on all my verizon bills (fios and wireless over $350month) and yet i couldn't even order the fight. Was on the phone for an hour and a supervisor said hes been having the same calls all night :francis::mjlol:

I am sure there will be mega fights in the future, and if I was still a kid, would be all about trying to get a piece of that pie, but after dropping 100$ on this fight, I personally will be skeptical about doing that again. Probably not alone in that sentiment. $50 bucks is the sweet spot, and even some of those disappoint. Mayweather won that fight easily, but it was boring, and Pac Man didn't do anything to excite people either.
I've seen more entertaining fights on Friday Night Fight's. :yeshrug:

Those who say its boring don't understand the sweet science we saw a clinic.

Folks expecting some big ass hasim rahman knot on his forehead or some Micky ward Arturo gatti slugfest welts under the eye both with brain damage.

There is a reason he was known as pretty boy for never getting hit

Floyd is boxing

Dude can literally go tommy Morrison and fight a old washed up fighter in the streets and make 100mill of it

Lol, I think you're confusing boxing with draw in your example.

Brock Lesnar could start boxing and become the #1 draw, but it ain't boxing.

To each his own :ehh: I am a casual boxing fan, so guess I was expecting more from the fight billed as the fight of the century. Mayweather handled him with ease, but with little excitement. Outside of that shot PacMan landed early on that stumbled May and caused him to cover up, it was lack luster. But again, I am casual and maybe do not appreciate the technique behind May's performance.

I did enjoy the Lomachenko's fight. He looks like the real deal.
