Mike Tyson and Oscar De la Hoya would like to have a word with you. Floyd wasn't even a staple on PPV till after he fought Gatti. Then the Oscar fight put him over the top as a draw.

oscar only had a million buys twice with out floyd  . lets not act like pretty boy floyd wasn't emerging around the time he beat oscar. of corse that fight fight elevated him but it also had the same effect for oscars numbers.

when the next 30 months is over, floyd will have the PPV crown for most rev generated, oscar had his career already.

The thing is he didn't do much trash talking for this fight... and Guerrero isn't a big name so we'll see where his star power is really at

Everyone talked about the fight during the weekend though, I'm guessing around Ortiz numbers, 1.4million IIRC

Sho had a special and 4 eps of that all access sh1t with him talking sh1t.

Yeah but let's not act like PPV's haven't expanded since the 90's when Oscar was king. If Oscar came out of retirement today, I guarantee his fight would do well over a million buys. Floyd was emerging but he needed Gatti and De La Hoya in order to be where he is now.

2.4?? I call Bullshyt. Schefter was saying that the Mayweather vs Mosley fight did 3 Million a few days after the fight and we all knew what the real numbers were when they were released. I think this fight didn't hit 1 Million.

Considering the ratings on all access VS 24/7 id say it does maybe 900k wich they will round up to a million.. I don't think people were thirst for this fight

@danrafaelespn: No official PPV #'s yet for Floyd but 2 industry sources tell me they look bad (under 1M). We'll see. If true, heavy $$ losses for Showtime.
