South been the main factor since around 05,, even though majority of the shyt is trash but when it comes overall in the big picture it’s been Drake and Kendrick on top from sales and awards and Nicki holding it down for the women

There are like 18 southern states with plenty others which are adjacent. It is never going back to how it was. If people like you they’ll rock with you regardless. NYC has done well during the past 10 years…it is not a wasteland like it was

LL’s legacy is bigger, that’s not my point. It doesn’t make him the original prototype for the superstar rapper, MC Shan is that

LL borrowed from that

Nobody borrowed from LL

Maybe 50 in the gym regiment

Shan was nowhere In the marketplace when I need a beat dropped by ll written on an ironing board when ll was fourteen as silver fox's protege.

The fukk are you talembout.
Stop this fake hiphop historian act you been at lately. Either committ to the culture for real.
or do not do it at all.

All this troll shyt is wack.

Plus not tolerated in hiphop or rap.

The highest sellout draw in rap history. Were made dead defunct draws in rap at their height.
plus do not draw right now for trolling the public with pisspoor pr. So how are you a nondraw.
going to draw on a message board using their troll pr act!?!!!!!

Stop.

That goes for all uv youse.

Breh I'm not one of these "Nas has to look out for every single individual that ever came out of Queensbridge" cats but he really should at least help Shan with dental implants.

He doesn't have to do shyt for Shan that he hasn't already done. Shan can afford to get implants on his own.

play dumb brehs

This doesn’t prove anything Shmurda and Keef rap nothing alike and Hot Nikka was a Lloyd Banks beat

Keef basically inspired every young street rapper to come after him because they had stopped signing nikkas like that and he helmed a movement

Birdman need to speak for New Orleans instead of forming the South like voltron against one city.

In the last 10 years NYC has produced dozens of acts, I can’t say the last New Orleans rapper that blew all the good Louisiana rappers from Baton Rouge.

The south had it officially since the summer of 2004. Before then it was The west coast and some east coast since 89-2004. Before that it was East Coast.

But Birdman is wrong. Midwest and the small town southern rappers outside of major hub cities (Baton Rouge, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Texas) is running the game right now.
Atlanta is bigger than all of these places

I got tha table on me.

I see your frustration, and it's always been clear that you're passionate about hip-hop and its history. It's important to remember that discussions about hip-hop's past can be subjective, and different people have varying viewpoints on the contributions of artists like MC Shan and LL Cool J.

While perspective in itself is inherently variable and we might not always agree but that’s what keeps the discussion going. Maybe in this conversation I’m Stephen A and and you’re Skip Bayless, maybe in the next one I’m Skip Bayless and you’re Stephen A. Either way essential to keep the conversation to realize this is all open to different interpretations. Hip-Hop has evolved over the years, and each artist has played a unique role in shaping its history - from my point of view MC Shan is the clearly more influential rapper

Let’s encourage a constructive dialogue and put the tables away, for now at least

Stop.

Shan was never the boy king like ll cool j.
Where shan lives a complete lie.
in his head as far as his impact.
or permeation in the market place.

Shan was and still is fodder.

The rap games fascination with losers and sheltered homebodies. who never really rhymed nowhere.
Plus never excelled nowhere as emcee is astonishing.

Why are people listening to this coke head and Pendergast.

I did not even press play.

just because losers got an internet connection. Does not mean you supposed to keep up a national geographic grocier rag report on their every fukk'n move.

i swear to gawd.

Why are y'all fascinated with nikkaz who never rhymed well nowhere.

Why!?!!!!

MC Shan represents exactly what he represents. As an online personality he is assessable and non-commercial. As a rapper he represents the originator of everything that was appealing about Eazy-E’s style, minus the themes

He was capable of creating crossover success - “Left Me Lonely” might not compare to some of the hits from LL but the song stands the tesr of time and I’ve argued with my girl at that exact location the video was shot, despite coming from California.

This is the appeal of MC Shan and why his legacy can not be overlooked

Certainly not in favor of rap’s first machine distributed pop star

But while we’re here Art Barr, and you’ve got the tables out … here we go, in the style of MC Shan this time

:dj2:
*looks to the DJ, “drop that shyt”*

Art Barr, you're talkin' all this mess, it's time to put the tables away,
Your words are like fables at play, you've lost your way in the rap game, that’s what I’d say,
I'll drop the mic, let the crowd have a say,
While you keep spittin' fiction, I'll make hits all day.
You're stuck in the past, it's a brand new day,
Your rhymes are outdated, like an old school DJ,
I'm the future of this game, leading the way,
While you're in the shadows, stuck in a cliche.
I bring the fire, you're just smokin' hay,
Your rhymes are weak, like they're made of clay,
I'll bury you lyrically, no need to delay,
It's a rap battle, and I'm here to slay.
So step off the stage, let the real ones play,
Your time's over, Art Barr, put the tables away,
I'll keep risin' to the top, no time to sway,
While you're stuck in the past, I'm here to stay.

This is the revision history of the likes only nazi's covet.

Stop.

Shan was never a draw frfr and was fodder.

On no day am I Stephen c00n fetching. And on no day will I be compared to skip Bayless.

You are a nobody in actual hiphop culture. Who has a chance to speak up only because I excelled in the other top drawing profession as an actual professional in the world of the internet. So in that accord. Stop shammin shan supporter and stop making fan fiction for this fukk'n culture thief shan.

All empires crumble. Don't get so cocky to think yours will last forever. I remember how dominant Death Row and the west coast was in the early to mid 90s, see what happened to them

MC Shan don't want it with Bird...

Old cats with his mentality are the reason why the East ain't poppin now.

Too busy in their feelings instead of helping the next man out.
Basically. The south blew the way it did in the early 2000s because you had so many nikkas working together. Same time in the early 2000s NY was beefing with each other or being standoffish and passive aggressive with nikkas in their city

Using Birdman as an example. Everytime you see this nikka he's talking about other rappers. I remember an interview from around two years ago where he talked up NBA YoungBoy the damn near the whole interview:mjlol: YB isn't signed to him but he talked him up all the same just because he fukks with him

Empires crumble but it's important to understand why

Death Row crumbled because Suge put more work into being a mob boss than he did being the head of a major label
