Lmao Jay has a team of media folks, industry stans and professional raconteurs that will defend him at the drop of a hat

Elliott Wilson, Toure, TheDream, Young Guru, Questlove, Dreamhampton, Angie Martinez etc

There is zero tolerance for any negative narrative towards Jay or any Roc Nation affiliate (Beyonce, Rihanna, Meg, Cole etc) in the mainstream

Guru is really the one thats always caping recently, but hes related to Jay like Royce and Crooked are to Em, what i'm talking about is the randiom mcs who will always leap to Eminems defense every time someones throws a shot, the same don't really happen with Jay.

Em isn’t the GOAT because he doesn’t have the music to back up his claims. Him being white is irrelevant. His music fell off significantly after Encore. And even his good stuff is cringe and hard to listen to in 2024. He has an argument for being top 10-20 all time. But GOAT? No.

Joe Budden said that Em was ONE OF THE GREATS, not THE GREATEST, which is a more than reasonable take that most people within the culture would give you.

Agree with Umar or not, his opinion doesn't hold as much weight on the subject as Shan, let alone Chuck D or a myriad of actual MC's about who and what is valid in Hip Hop culture or considered to be great.

You always have a bunch of people not even related to Em in any capacity jumping to his rescue anytime someone throws even a minor shot, they don’t do this for Jay.
Because jay have money 💰 real money

And a lot of them (his peers and those that came before him)

Eminem not being the GOAT has nothing to do with him being white and everything to do with his output. That being said. Dr Umar was saying some dumb shyt that can be broken apart as well. And honestly. He’s the same one who just tried to shyt on hip hop as a whole and say it was white supremacy in the first place. So how u gonna shyt on the culture. Not even be part of the culture in any real way, and then try to dictate who can be part of the culture at the same time? shyt is a disingenuous argument. And son can honestly fukk outta here.

Eminem's not the GOAT. But he's definitely top four. So, if you include Biggie and Pac, whore, along with his evil twin, who do you think that third and that fourth spot's for? :troll:
I disagree obviously but if someone has Em in their top 5-10 am I gonna be mad? No. That's your business and as long as most of the list looks right then I can't be mad. If you have him as the GOAT then yea I'm gonna laugh. Not saying you, since you said he's not the GOAT. But the only people I see listing Em as the GOAT are white boys who only listen to Aftermath rappers, Snoop, and Ice Cube. It's always the dudes who go crazy over shyt like Infinite but somehow (wink wink) never heard the shyt Em was clearly inspired by on that: AZ, Nas, G Rap etc.

Give Em a lot of credit, he's a hip hop head who loves this shyt and always shows love to the people who inspired him. But his fans have spent decades pretending like nobody was doing internal rhymes or syllable rhymes until him.

Not as many people go out of their way to mention Jay or discredit his legacy and when they do, nobody really ever validates them like that.

When someone like Umar does it or even Lord Jamar before they kinda peaced things up took it upon themselves to speak for black people as a whole so of course the black people who disagree will be like hold up, especially in the case of Umar because he's not even

Eminem at his peak was NEVER GOAT to me and it had nothing to do with him being white. I did, however, have him in the top 10. After 2004, the more albums he dropped, the lower he dropped to the point where he doesn't really matter any more. The older music is still dope as is Relapse and some songs off his last album.

Jay isn’t white.

This is literally just another example of Black men running to the defense of a white man within Black culture, because these rappers actually feel like having the white guy involved helps validate them somehow.
