Uncharted 2 is perfect. There is literally NOTHING wrong with that game. I will defend Uncharted 2 to the death of me.
I didn't get a PS3 until earlier this year. I put 6 years in on my 360, played hundreds of games. I credit Uncharted 2 with opening my eyes. I was born again after experiencing the divine revelation that is Uncharted 2. It's pretty much the most perfect game ever crafted. Everything was inspired.

What makes it seem like you are bothered is the fact that you asked why Uncharted was praised while Ryse was panned, then when people gave you answers you didn't like you went into denial and became very defensive.
Some people in your thread said that they felt the gameplay and platforming in Uncharted added to the experience and provided reviews that supported that point and you dismissed those opinions and reviews. You even went as far as to state that the platforming in Uncharted didn't count as platforming do to it's linear nature. You have a different opinion on the game than other people but you can't essentially ask people why they liked a game and then tell them that there reasons for liking it are wrong. When you do things like that it makes it seem like you had an agenda from the start and no one takes your points seriously.

The people that actualy tried to have a rational conversation I gave real answers to. Everybody else was just there to stir up shyt. And I never called anyone's opinion wrong. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the combat/platforming. But when you try to pretend that it is deep and varied, then that is no longer an opinion and is factually wrong.

Fair enough, but if the action is varied enough that you never get the feeling while playing that things have gotten repetitive while playing through it the gameplay has done it's job well.

That's your opinion but I disagree. There were plenty of time were I wished the gunfights would just stop so i could get on with the action.

What's varied about shooting the same goons in a small arena until they stop coming?

And I know that's not a serious question. Just look at another naughty dog franchise that had a lot of the "set piece" type platforming sequences.

The crash bandicoot boulder dash levels were true platforming with set-prices exploding around you. Uncharted platforming is very shallow in comparison.

So you mean jump thru roof tops while a black hawk is droppin missiles after you and then jump thru hindu catacombs like an hour later is not varied enough platforming? :snoop:

You said the platforming wasn't varied and deep enough to switch it up to the shooting.

This chapter right here and onwards was absolutely mind boggling.

The movie going on behind you is varied, your actions are not. You go in the direction they tell you to and you hit jump when they tell you to. It's more QTE than true platforming.

Naughty dog did a good job making you feel like you were doing something, but the mechanics are as shallow as it gets for "platforming"

Could you please provide an example of a game with "true platforming"
