Why not let him go before this season when you decided he not only wasn't good enough to start but that he wasn't good enough to even be a backup or even be a QB for that matter?

Kirk & colt were mediocre in training camp & OTA's and rob had his struggles but was ok. After the lions preseason game, gruden used rob's concussion & mccloughan to convince synder that kirk was the go to guy for the season.

Snyder wasnt convinced & didnt wanna give up on robert because the kid is only 25, very smart & has a LOT of upside.

So far gruden is underachieving with a 8-17 coaching record & cousins has been inconsistent. Kirk hasnt convinced the FO that he is the guy going forward even though gruden wants him to be.

If we end up going like 4-12, i think its a strong possibility gruden is fired and anything can happen. Its not a foregone conclusion rob is done in DC because synder really loves him.

Also rob is under contract next year, kirk isnt. Kirk has the ENTIRE local DC media on his side, the HC & the GM. If he fails, its his fault, personally I think his ceiling is a back up. Funny how so many skins fan call the read option stupid but cam just put 5 TD's on us with it. Its the redskins, anything is possible because they're the epitome of dysfunctional.

Not sure how the race issue can be avoided here. This is disgusting. Not only do you bench the guy that made your franchise relevant but you don't even make him the backup and don't even grant him a release. You just have him sitting there rotting. You got white QBs still getting the potential pass 7, 8, 10 years into their careers but this guy is done in year 4? Kaep (who I have criticized, I actually criticized both when it was warranted) is suffering the same fate. You got QBs with record setting seasons and games and numerous playoffs wins and a SB appearance being benched for the likes of Kirk Cousins and Blaine Gabbert. Meanwhile with all these extra regular white QBs it's "bu...bu...but who you gonna replace him with" "you gotta see what you have in him" "look at insert attribute here".
