Meek is so overrated

Can we be honest, Meek hasn't brought anything to rap except that intro, he only started off with momentum because he rode the mmg wave into the game. That freestyle on hot 97 was so subpar and they gave him the super Chris Paul lob with that beat and he couldn't even ride it properly. I'm not coming at this as a meek hater or a game or drake fan just a fan of the genre, he hasn't really done anything really noteworthy, I need opinions cause I don't think I'm bugging.

Meek is an average rapper. Hell. Barely average. Nothing about his music is exceptional and other than his constant yelling on tracks brings nothing to the table or stands out.

He spits about guns money and chicks like everyone else does but he does it in the most basic and default way possible that makes u just look at him and think I could spit the same shyt

This thread is definition of "not getting it". Nobody's saying he's an all time great or an amazing street poet, 2Pac reborn in the flesh. Meek's appeal is that he's energetic, isn't afraid to rap and is actually from the mud (two things that have become nearly obsolete in mainstream rap), and raps over really good beats and is aided by really good hooks. There's nothing "overrated" about Meek Mill because nobody is overrating him in the first place and any praise/recognition he's getting is likely deserved
