That’s because streams ain’t fukking sales and there’s literally NO logical way to equate it as such. Never has been. shyt is all smoke and mirrors and it’s why majors have so much control over this shyt at this point.
Streams are consumption and your point makes no sense because only the big artist are generating substantial streams

If Major had control like you claim no one would flop because all these artist are investments

The big artist CANT flop. U don’t get it? Son there’s is NOTHING compared to actually going out and spending ur hard earned money no matter how u slice it. ONE album back then cost the price of a whole month of unlimited streaming if not more.

Hard to read but I think he's alluding to the fact that fridays create shorter weeks therefore less sales accumulated for 1st week sales.

It's a good point

Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake (dropped around noon eastern on a Friday) still sold 288k first week

Major labels cook numbers and inflate them all the time, it makes me question sales of today from the past when social media or streaming wasn’t around. I’m wondering how many listens they got once the album dropped.
Those numbers back in the day we’re being cooked as well unless people would like to pretend that labels were buying album bulks then to help inflate the numbers.
