Is it usually a 90% drop off for the second week? What is the usual figure?

The huge 2nd week drop for rap albums is commonly referred to as the Hip Hop drop. Rap albums usually drop by 65-75% from 1st to 2nd week. It would've been crazy if he DIDN'T drop like that. For non-rap albums, its closer to 50%.

Those numbers for Meek are high to me. He had a bigger debut than Nas, Chris Brown or Usher to name a few.

Damn shame about the drop on Kendrick's album, its reminiscent of Life is Good. Both albums had good word of mouth and better than expected first weeks but it seems like that was it.

Any reasoning behind why it only happens to Hip Hop?

The classic Good Kid, Maad City will go gold but they need to drop a second official single and video now, "Swimming Pools" been out for so long.

It's a shame because you're most likely put off by the hype surrounding... with caused you to turn the other cheek/become disinterested.

But i listen to everything but few albums actually grab my attention to where i "RE"play it often.

GKMC has extremely awesome replay value and i seldom can say that with many acts/albums in the past decade (the last joint I bumped so much off the bat was Ye's MBDTF - but i had to incorporate the Good Friday tracks to make it outstanding - Good Kid is monumental on its own).

Trust me on this one.

If you don't like Ken's lp, i'll take you out for apple bees. Bottomless nachos and wings (during happyhour) on moi.

Junna say kwa.

.

I don't wanna interrupt you from trying to pick up men from a hip-hop messageboard and take em out to dinner at Applebee's but I just had to let you know you're a stupid motherfukker. It's je ne sais quoi.
