I see what you are saying. I still disagree with your overall argument and this model of reflecting sales by using streams.

It's not perfect but it's as good as it gets, and they still report both numbers. The question is for how long they will be separating them, HDD are strictly reporting the EAU in their chart while Billboard reports both. In the end, what's charts for? I assume it's for showing the combination of how popular an artist is and how much money an artist is generating through music sales. And if technology evolves and we get new ways of consuming music, these should be represented. Just like HOT100 went from pure sales, to airplay+sales to stream+airplay+sales.

Everyones opinion is based on what you want the album charts to reflect.
