I'm under 30 and listened to them as a youth, listen to them and am a fan of them all to this day.

There are alot of people that might not know the name Melle Mel...but they still know his song and can recite his lyrics.

How many people in our age bracket don't know the line... "it's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how i keep from going under" or have no familarity whatsoever with the song the message? Be honest...if you claimin otherwise i'm gonna have to question ya background and where you came up at...the actual city of Detroit or some surrounding cac/chaldean filled suburb?

And you think e40 or ball&g (top 3-5 group/duo all-time btw) have more known and iconic songs than the message?

Melle Mel was arguably the 1st God MC to roc the mic and he set the foundation for essentially every great East Coast rapper. I know he made some silly comments a few days ago but we should pay homage to one of the greats of the genre and a pioneer.
